《Teachings of Khedun Ngawang Lekpa》NL3, written by the venerable Lodro Rabten, is a teaching beneficial to the mind. Written by the venerable Lodro Rabten, is a teaching beneficial to the mind. Abandon accumulation, be a renunciate; Remain silent, focus on the sacred Dharma. Do not hesitate, death may come at any time; Please keep my heartfelt words in mind. Do not be distracted by the noise of the world, Let your behavior conform to the rules of individual liberation. Enjoy food that is in accordance with the Dharma, such as tea, Avoid impure foods such as fish and meat. The essence of all the scriptures spoken by the Tathagata, Is not different, but the Dharma gathered into one. The profound oral instruction teaching that is being spoken now, Should be practiced from a young age. With a motivation as pure as the bright moon, Strive to benefit others. With offerings of essence such as alcohol, medicine, and blood, Offer to Mahākāla (藏文:མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལ་,梵文:Mahākāla,महाकाल,Mahākala,Great Black One) and his retinue. Chaturmukha (藏文:ཙ་ཏུརྨུ་ཁ་,梵文:Chaturmukha,चतुर्मुख,Chaturmukha,Four-Faced One) and his retinue, if properly offered to, Then all internal and external obstacles, such as hot and cold diseases, Will be washed away as if by flowing water, And the harm of fox-like demons will disappear into the Dharmadhatu. Do not fall into unfortunate states such as disability, deafness, or muteness, Do not be defiled by defects such as incompleteness or hermaphroditism. Now that you have obtained the leisure and endowment of a human body, You should use this rare opportunity for virtue. My Dharma image, which is like brass pretending to be gold, Should not encourage others to imitate. But with a pure thought from the bottom of my heart, As the wish of the supreme master of the Sakya (藏文:ས་སྐྱའི་) school. A prayer that is neither too verbose nor fails to express the core meaning. Ah! May it ripen in your heart! The above is a teaching beneficial to the mind, written by the monk named Tsultrim, Lodro Rabten, in response to a request. I thought that there was no need to say more, and that even these essential words could accomplish the task. Therefore, the Shakya monk Ngawang Kunga Lekpa extracted words from the thirty letters and composed them into verse and offered them, may it be virtuous! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
