Collected Teachings of Ngawang Kunga Sonam ANK58: A Memorandum on the Melodies of Vajrakila A Memorandum on the Melodies of Vajrakila Namo Buddha Dhvajaye (Tibetan: ན་མོ་བུདྡྷ་དྷྭ་ཛ་ཡེ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमो बुद्ध ध्वज ये, Sanskrit Romanization: Namo Buddha Dhvaja Ye, Literal meaning: Homage to the Victory Banner of the Buddha). When performing the Vajrakila ritual, the melodies struck three times on the instruments are: The southwest of the sky, Hayagriva (Tibetan: རྟ་མགྲིན་, literal meaning: Horse Neck) and the Doorkeeper (Tibetan: སྒོ་མ་), as well as Yangdak (Tibetan: ཡང་དག་, literal meaning: Truthful) and Sugata (Tibetan: བདེ་གཤེགས་, literal meaning: Gone to Bliss) are seductive and emit the sound of Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal meaning: Seed Syllable). The length of glory, the attachment, anger, and ignorance of the self, and the first essence of the remaining Bhagavan. The melodies struck twice on the instruments are: The Supreme Noble One (Tibetan: འཕགས་མཆོག་གཙོ་བོ་), the Father and Mother emit the sound of Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal meaning: Seed Syllable), the samaya substance and sentient beings, the Mother who is one with that, the completely free collection of Jaḥ (Tibetan: ཛཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: जः, Sanskrit Romanization: jaḥ, literal meaning: Seed Syllable) manifested Shwana Ring, the Earth Mother, and the Great and Small Bodhisattvas. Three strikes and two strikes are all repetitive. If a melody is made for the Supreme Noble Mother (Tibetan: འཕགས་མཆོག་མ་), then after 'Samaya Tvam (Tibetan: ས་མ་ཡ་སཏྭཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: समय सत्त्वं, Sanskrit Romanization: samaya sattvaṃ, literal meaning: Vow Being)', the repetition of two strikes is performed. For the Unborn Mother (Tibetan: སྐྱེ་མེད་མ་), four strikes three times, then six strikes, then a small tune once and a large tune once, do that again and stop. For the new melody of the Great Vow, lengthen three times and nine strikes three times, then a small tune and a large tune, do that again and stop. For the dance melody of the Great Vow, lengthen three times, then the repetition of three strikes. For the ten places of Heruka (Tibetan: ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་), four strikes three times, then a small tune and a large tune once. For the Supreme Mother (Tibetan: བླ་མེད་མ་), two strikes once, then three strikes, then two strikes once each. For the Blue Triangular Mother (Tibetan: གྲུ་གསུམ་མཐིང་ཆེན་མ་), nine strikes repeated. For the Outer Mandala Mother (Tibetan: དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ཕྱི་རིམ་མ་), lengthen three times and twenty-one strikes, then a small tune and a large tune once, do that again. For the short melody of Shwana Mother (Tibetan: ཤྭ་ན་མ་), large twice and small three times, do that three times, then large once. For her Karma Mother (Tibetan: ལས་མཁན་མ་), large and slow twice, large and fast three times, do that again, then large twice, then two tunes, then after fourteen strikes, large three times. At the head of the remaining offerings, all the instruments are played together, after seven strikes three times, large once. The wrathful melody of the Wrathful One, as above, gradually strike, then the repetition of three strikes. First, for Padmasambhava (Tibetan: པདྨ་འབྱུང་གནས་), the instruments strike four times three times. For the messenger of the retinue of the Great Glorious One (Tibetan: དཔལ་ཆེན་), four strikes gradually speed up, then gradually diminish. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The method of three strikes after striking is to accept with answers. This principle is also like the speech of the mantra holder, the lord of Dharma, Ngagwang Kunga Rinchen (ངག་དབང་ཀུན་དགའ་རིན་ཆེན་, Lord of Speech, All-Joyful Jewel), Like the teachings that uphold the lineage of speech, may all who seek meaning be auspicious through this! This was written by Ngagwang Kunga (ངག་དབང་ཀུན་དགའ་, Lord of Speech, All-Joyful) , a monk of the Khon lineage, named Shakya. Mangalam! According to the wishes of Khenchen Apad Rinpoche (ཨ་པད་རིན་པོ་ཆེ, Apad Rinpoche), it was served by Guru (གུ་རུ་, Guru). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
