A Praise of Sukhavati (Pure Land of Bliss) - The Emergence of the Water Treasury of Faith Homage to Guru Buddha Dhvaja! I prostrate with reverence to the kind Muspa Rje, the embodiment of all refuges! For the sake of fortunate beings generating longing, conviction, and faith, I will praise the supreme realm of Sukhavati. That realm of Sukhavati in the west, praised by all Buddhas of the three times, is a realm accomplished through the power of the Buddhas' aspirations. Its ground is as level as the palm of a hand, adorned with precious jewels, vast and radiant, soft and blissful, where immeasurable Buddhas and Bodhisattvas gather and reside. Various trees are made of the seven precious jewels, endowed with branches, leaves, flowers, and fruits. Moved by the wind, they emit melodious sounds, and lotus flowers cover every direction. On the tip of each lotus flower, countless emanations of Buddhas reside, pervading all directions with light and rays. Rivers with eight qualities of water are filled with fragrance, and the sounds of divine songs, dances, and cymbals constantly arise. Various kinds of Utpala flowers cover the ground, all beautiful and radiant, pleasing to behold, and the fragrance of sandalwood is continuous. Various flocks of birds are emanations of the Sugatas (Buddhas), proclaiming the immeasurable qualities of the Buddhas, and all gods and humans are golden in color, radiating light. Adorned with various garments and precious ornaments, they are always engaged in the profound and vast joy of Dharma. They possess the eyes and ears of gods, remember past lives, and have inexhaustible wisdom. Their miraculous powers are spontaneously accomplished. Food, clothing, bedding, medicine, and utensils are abundant. Robes, alms bowls, precious houses, and so forth, appear as soon as they are thought of. Umbrellas, victory banners, and other offerings, all these, whatever is thought of in the mind, arise effortlessly in an instant. The sounds of evil realms and bad destinies are not heard. There is no fighting or discord, no unwholesome actions, and all times are filled with the compassion of Bodhisattvas. There are no signs of untimely death. By remembering the Victorious One (Buddha), one is granted the deathless life and supreme accomplishments. In that extraordinary and wondrous supreme realm, on a lotus seat made of precious jewels, reside those of supreme lineage, with sharp faculties, endowed with excellent marks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This 'Praising Sukhavati: A Wellspring of Faith' was composed at the Sakya Lhachen Rigdzin Phodrang on the twenty-fifth day of the tenth month of the Wood Rabbit year, by the one named Ananda, a mantra holder who touches the dust of the feet of the all-encompassing refuge, the venerable Muspa Chenpo, relying on the verses from the 'Sutra on the Inconceivable Qualities of the Buddha Land' and the aspiration prayers composed by Chöje Lodrö Gyaltsen (Tibetan: ཆོས་རྗེ་བློ་གྲོས་རྒྱལ་མཚན།) and others. May auspiciousness increase!
