Homage and Pledge to Compose Homage and Pledge to Compose Namo Guru Manjughoshaya. (Tibetan: ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་མནྫུ་གྷོ་ཥཱ་ཡ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमो गुरु मञ्जुघोषाया, Sanskrit Romanization: Namo Guru Mañjughoṣāya, Literal Chinese Meaning: Homage to Guru Manjughosha) With a moon on the crown, eyes like a self-arisen white lotus, Riding on clouds, the two mothers Kartika, A blazing treasure, a wish-fulfilling jewel on the crown's throne, I bow to the son of Shuddhodana, who places his toenails. The glory of marks and signs blazing like a heap of molten moon, Adorned with five locks of Indra-nila, Even a slight recollection defeats the darkness of ignorance, I pay homage to the Lord of Speech. The songs of the eighty-four thousand Dharmas, Drawing from the sound of the lute, a beautiful spring, The charming celestial maiden Yangchenma who bestows, Grant here today the inexhaustible object of eloquence. Each and every phenomenon of samsara and nirvana, moving and unmoving, Has endless signs, words, and names, Only the heroes on earth can tread, How can the mind of a weak child measure it? However, just as drinking a portion of a flowing river, Can quench the thirst of a traveler, Like taking a drop from the center of the ocean of terms, With the tip of the kusha grass of hearing and contemplation, I will speak.
