Collected Teachings of Ningben Kunga Pal, JNKP5: Jonangpa Praises Jonangpa Praises Before the Victorious One (རྒྱལ་བའི་, Gyalwai, the Victorious One, referring to the Buddha), there is the victorious prince Licchavi (ལི་ཙཱ་བི།, Licchavi, an ancient Indian tribe). In Kalapa (ཀ་ལཱ་པ་རུ་, Kalaparu, a place name) there is the White Lotus (པདྨ་དཀར།, Padma Kar) with lineage. On the Glorious Mountain (དཔལ་གྱི་རི་, Palgyi Ri, Sanskrit Śrīparvata, a mountain name) he is known as the great Nagarjuna (ཀླུ་སྒྲུབ་ཆེན་པོར་, Klu Drub Chenpor, Sanskrit Nāgārjuna, founder of the Madhyamaka school of Buddhism). I pray to Jowo Nangpa (ཇོ་ནང་པ་ལ་, Jonangpa), the protector of beings. In the fragrant place, there is the great Dharma-noble hero of mind (ཆོས་འཕགས་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེ།, Chöpak Sempa Che). In the city of Lhasa (ལྷ་ལྡན་གྲོང་དུ་, Lha Den Drongdu, meaning the city of heavenly paradise) there is Songtsen Gampo (སྲོང་བཙན་སྒམ་པོ་, Songtsen Gampo, the 33rd king of the Tubo Dynasty). In Ngayab Ling (རྔ་ཡབ་གླིང་ན་, Ngayab Lingna, the legendary Rakshasa continent) there is the glorious Padmasambhava (པདྨ་འབྱུང་གནས་, Padma Jungne, Sanskrit Padmasambhava, founder of Tibetan Buddhism). I prostrate at the feet of Sherab Gyaltsen (ཤེས་རབ་རྒྱལ་མཚན་, Sherab Gyaltsen, Wisdom Banner). His wisdom is as vast as the sky. With that wisdom, he fully understood the definitive meaning of the scriptures. For the sake of the sacred Dharma, he could even give up his life. I bow to the feet of the lama known as Dolpopa (དོལ་པོ་པར་, Dolpopar, Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen, 1292-1361). In this land of snow mountains, he is the master of the definitive meaning teachings. He is unparalleled, turning the sacred wheel of Dharma (ཆོས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལོ་བསྐོར།, Chökyi Khorlo Kor). To Jowo Nangpa (ཇོ་ནང་པ།, Jonangpa), the emanation of the protector of the world (འཇིག་རྟེན་མགོན་པོའི་, Jikten Gönpöi, Sanskrit Lokanātha), I offer homage at the feet of the great Omniscient One (ཀུན་མཁྱེན་ཆེན་པོའི་, Künkhyen Chenpöi, Sanskrit Sarvajña). Through the power of offering, praise, prostration, and prayer, May your (སྐྱབས་མཆོག་ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་, Kyabchok Khyekyi, Supreme Refuge You) teachings flourish. May all obstacles of us (བདག་ཅག་རྣམས་ཀྱི་, Dakchak Namkyi) be pacified. May all accomplishments and wishes be fulfilled.
