Upon his birth, he was given the name \"Sherab Namgyal Dorje Bum.\" From a young age, the two holy ones bestowed upon him the nectar of Dharma like pouring from a full vase. At the age of twenty, he received full ordination as a monk from Khenpo Lotsawa Ngawang Chöpal through the Chikdzok method. In the presence of Dharma Lord Zhenphen Wangpo, he listened to the Vinaya, Abhisamayalankara, and so forth, receiving thorough explanations of the scriptures and reasoning from the perspective of logic. In addition to what he had heard from the two holy lamas, he also invited a teacher, Wangchukpa, from Gongkar Chöde and listened to all the existing traditions of the new Dharma, including the Vajramala. He also composed countless treatises, including commentaries on poetry, general meanings of the Abhisamayalankara, general meanings of the Guhyagarbha Tantra, supplements to the Three Vows, the Lamp of Seven Precious Instructions on the activities of the Lord of Life, empowerments, and complete activity manuals.
