In this realm, he was previously born as Prajña Alaṅkāra, a disciple of the noble Nāgārjuna, and as Gyalwa Chokyang, a disciple of Guru Padmasambhava, among others. Later, he took birth as the virtuous spiritual friend Potowa Rinchen Sal. After that, in the sacred place of Teshö Gang in the region of Dokham, he was born as the son of the yogi Gompa Dorje Gon, a practitioner of Yamāntaka, and the yogini Lhatokza. He was born in the Iron Tiger year. He requested the life-essence of the king from his father, practiced it, and attained accomplishment. He received full ordination from Khenpo Mal Dulzin and became skilled in the Vinaya. Then, he went to Dharma Lord Gampopa and received limitless empowerments and instructions. He was given the essential instructions on the path of skillful means, and after meditating for nine days, heat and bliss forcibly blazed forth, and realization arose. He established Tsurphu Monastery. After that, he traveled to indefinite places, extensively carried out activities for the benefit of beings, and finally, at the time of his passing, he told the elderly attendants to use the many possessions they had to make offerings to the objects of refuge and the Sangha.
