During the reign of Lha Thothori Nyantsen. ༈ After the passing of the twenty-seventh king, when Lha Thothori Nyantsen resided in Yumbu Lhakhang Palace, the Pang Kong Chagya Pa, a golden stupa, the essence of the Sutra Pitaka Zamatoga, the six-syllable mantra (ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ，Tibetan: ༀ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ།，Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ मणि पद्मे हूँ，Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ，Literal Chinese meaning: Om Mani Padme Hum), and a sandalwood Mani carved bowl fell on the roof of the palace, thus initiating the holy Dharma. Although it was not known what they were, it was considered a good omen, named "Nyenpo Sang," and vast offerings were made. The king regained his youth and his lifespan increased by forty years, reaching a total of one hundred and twenty years. Furthermore, when a rain of scriptures fell on the roof of the king's "Dza" (ཛཿ) chamber, the Zamatoga Sutra was carried away by the wind and landed on the top of Yumbu Lhakhang, which is said to be the auspicious beginning for the flourishing of Buddhism in Tibet.
