Abridged Recitation Manual of Peaceful and Wrathful, Self-Liberation of Intention: Elucidation of Meaning of Liberation. Abridged Recitation Manual of Peaceful and Wrathful, Self-Liberation of Intention. This is the so-called "Abridged Recitation Manual of Peaceful and Wrathful, Self-Liberation of Intention: Elucidation of Meaning of Liberation." Namo Guru Jina Mandalaya. The letters of the name destroy the fear of evil destinies. If recited with faith, it cuts the thread of samsara. Having prostrated to the deities of the mandala of the hundred families, may those who work for the benefit of others find a resting place. This Peaceful and Wrathful, Self-Liberation of Intention, up to the wise and accomplished Karma Chakme, seems to have the practice and conduct of generation and completion stages in a detailed and proper manner. Later, it became merely a village ritual of repeating the number of rituals, let alone maintaining the practice instructions. I have seen that those who perform qualified recitation and accomplishment are very rare. Spending one's life with empowerment and transference of consciousness without being able to recite is difficult to benefit others, and one bears the heavy burden of transgressing the teachings. Even if one completes one long or short recitation, it will become a great benefit for both oneself and others. This also relies on the spontaneously born wisdom of the stages of meditation. First, one should accomplish the recitation of the peaceful deities, and then the recitation of the wrathful deities separately. This is most excellent as it is in accordance with the practices of the Collected Sutras and the Gathering of the Eight Commands. The way to do this can be learned from the words of Pal Katokpa Kunzig Tsewang Chokdrub. Here, it is difficult for beginners with inferior minds to clearly visualize the deities and mantra wheels of the body mandala, and the view and meditation of self-existing complete wisdom are even more absent. Seeing that one acts as if one thinks it is so, and it turns into an unaccumulated action, I will explain the method of recitation based on the smaller outer mandala, according to the intention of Chakme Rinpoche. In this regard, according to the intention of that lord, the main point is the exchange of the five families, the peaceful and wrathful deities reciting their own mantras, and the purification of reciting the hundred-syllable mantras of the five families, symbolizing the transformation into the forty-two deity mandala, which should be practiced as explained in his words. In the case of the recitation of the peaceful and wrathful deities themselves, in order to prevent obstacles and accomplish siddhis at the beginning, one should do as much as possible the common preliminary practices to increase the power of merit.

When approaching the start of the practice, close off the outer environment. Visualize yourself as the Vajrasattva body mandala, both peaceful and wrathful deities, clearly in an instant, and recite the hundred-syllable mantra. Offer white torma and golden beverage. Erect a victory banner, perform generation, absorption, torma offering, and entrust activities. Bathe with blessed water from reciting wrathful deity mantras. Then, for seven days or even three days, divide the preliminary practices for taming one's own mindstream into sessions, combining recitation and meditation. Ensure that renunciation, refuge, bodhicitta, accumulation, purification, devotion, and supplication are integrated into your mindstream. Then, when approaching the actual start of the practice, clean the dwelling. If possible, in front of the representations such as paintings or sculptures of peaceful and wrathful deities, arrange a precious blazing torma on a clean platform. Place medicine and alcohol on the right and left sides. In front, arrange outer offerings in rows. Prepare protector torma offerings, feast implements, etc. Begin in the evening session, preceding with supplication. Recite refuge and bodhicitta three times. Oṃ āḥ hūṃ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम् आः हूँ, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: oṃ āḥ hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om Ah Hum), recite the ten branches of your own tradition, such as the boundless realms reaching the end of space. Throw out the obstacle-removing torma and command like in a small ritual. With fierce mantras, mustard seeds, gugul incense, etc., along with a wrathful demeanor, close off the inner environment and firmly meditate on the protection wheel. Starting from blessing the offerings and the three samadhis, generate the mandala of the support and the supported. At this time, regarding the method of generating the deities, some ancient ones believed that, in accordance with the body mandala, peaceful deities should be generated on the seat of the palace, and its essence should be to generate wrathful deities in the sky. Minling Lochen stated that, in accordance with the Dongtruk Kama "Disturbance" practice, peaceful and wrathful deities should be arranged together. Chagme Zhap first clearly visualized the peaceful mandala, raised it into the sky, and then meditated on the wrathful deities on the actual seat of the palace, saying that this ancient tradition was unreasonable. Moreover, some scholars have listed reasons for its unreasonableness. However, later scholars who understood the meaning of the tantras believed that the palace should be a combination of peaceful and wrathful deities, made into a stupa-topped building, and in the vase-shaped upper room, the peaceful five families should be placed on a four-petaled lotus seat. The six Buddhas should be placed above, below, and in the four corners. The gatekeeper couple should be placed at the four doors of the vase. In the actual mandala of the lower palace, the blood-drinking deities should be clearly visualized.
