The instructions on Sahajayoga are in three parts: preliminaries, main practice, and conclusion. First, for one month, generate strong renunciation. Make supplications and offer mandalas. Recite the Vajrasattva mantra one hundred times. In this way, good dreams and signs will arise, and the mind will turn away from worldly activities. For a person with faith and respect, it is best to cut off doubts at this point. A middling person will have good experiences. A lower person will develop faith and respect for the Lama. The cause of arising experiences is having faith. Having renunciation is having devotion. Having the power of blessings is having wisdom. Such a person will understand the meaning. Having any of these three completes the preliminaries. The main practice is of two types: conducive conditions and instructions. First, eat nutritious food. When the body is comfortable and strong, the mind will be workable. The place should be a secluded retreat. Abandon activities of body, speech, and mind. Conduct should be observed as straight as a yoke. Walking, sitting, and lying down should be like that of a sick person." , "english_translation": "The actual instructions are of three types. First, meditate by stopping thoughts. This is of two types: with prana and without prana. With prana, practice vase breathing in four sessions. Without prana, there are two types: with support and without support. Support means relying on a wooden stick, a pebble, or a butter lamp, the Lama, and so on. Without support, rest in the unfabricated state. In between, tell pleasant stories. Tell instructions that generate renunciation. If supplication to the Lama is not thorough, and attachment is not reversed from the depths of the heart, even if the meditation is good, it is only a little bit of effort. The faults of meditation are dullness, agitation, and sinking. If dull, move the seat to a breezy place. Meditate on water birds and crows. If agitated, contract and eat nutritious food. Repeatedly meditate on strong male prana. If sinking, rely on starlight and hail. In front of a special support, confess for seven days all the slander and accumulated sins from beginningless lifetimes towards the Lama, the Three Jewels, and so on. Then repeat the meditation again. By meditating in this way, experiences will arise." , "english_translation": "Various experiences such as bliss, clarity, and non-thought will arise.

Now, return. That is the difficulty of guarding a long period of time. There is much knowledge of practice, but little knowledge of breaking through. Then, the method of gradually breaking down is: mixing practice and conceptual thought. Before conceptual thought arises continuously, cut off the life force, and insert it like a vase in the crack of a door. The eyes should also be opened and closed frequently. In all actions such as walking, standing, lying down, sitting, and speaking, guard without distraction. Regard afflictions, conceptual thoughts, etc., as necessary and unavoidable. Sever ties with flawed people and things. Thus, one is separated from both refuting and establishing. If conceptual thought does not arise as practice, then whatever is done is the cause and effect of samsara. Do not be bound by great practice, and cast the view of understanding behind you. Destroy the experience of practice from the root. Introduce it secretly like a thief. When the blessing of the guru enters, and is combined with pure view, practice, and conduct, great conceptual thought will arise, like meeting a familiar person there. If it is possible to offer to the deity, it should be done. A special joy will also arise. Corroborate with the sutras, tantras, and the guru's teachings, and all introductions are complete, which is explained sequentially by the four yogas. Also rely on the prophecy of non-reversal from samsara. Even if one does not need karmic results for oneself, in order to plant the seed of the form body, establish dependent origination as if dealing with unreal things. Then there is the subsequent instruction, the arising of practice without a master, like paper being carried away by the wind. The wish-fulfilling jewel is bound in the mud. The lion loses its power by being chased by a dog. Like a king falling into the common people. Therefore, a master who renounces attachment is needed. The yogi in whom realization has arisen, without having practiced, has already completed all the methods. The yogi who is like a sheep, practices diligently throughout his life, or practices nine or six times. Also, one should constantly observe throughout one's life. Before realization has arisen as illusion, before the eight worldly concerns have been balanced, before compassion has exhausted self-interest, before the time of skillful means has arrived, when those qualities are possessed, for a person who is like a precious jewel, everyone should respectfully offer as if on their head. The transaction of the three levels of defilement, great, medium, and small. The oral instructions of the three essential points of coemergent union are complete. Auspicious! Well done! Auspicious!
