With wisdom, completely severing the bonds of existence; with compassion, abandoning the joy of peace for long; not abiding in the extremes of existence and peace, the Lord of Existence and Peace, I pray to the Victorious Vajradhara. Beyond the dust motes of countless realms, the treasure of wisdom of countless Victorious Ones, the wisdom body gathered into one without limit, I pray to the Protector Manjushri. Through the power of having made great aspirations for a long time, the Venerable Manjushri personally appearing, completely dispelling all nets of doubt, I pray to the feet of the Hero Vajra. Having well understood the nature of the two truths with wisdom, through the power of practicing the union of method and wisdom, Tsongkhapa who manifested the three bodies, I pray to the feet of the glorious Lama. Gyaltsab Je and Khedrup Gelek Pal, Sherab Senge, Gendun Drubpa, and so on, the lords of speech who appeared in succession, I pray to the Lamas of the lineage. The eye for viewing all the vast scriptures, the supreme gateway for traversing to the fortunate liberation, with skillful means of protecting with love, I pray to the spiritual friends who illuminate. The root of all goodness of worldly and transworldly, the kind Lord, the root of all qualities, just by remembering in the mind, at all times, please bless that effortless devotion arises. Abiding in contentment with little desire, peaceful and gentle, sincerely seeking liberation from the heart, speaking frankly, acting with caution, relying on supreme companions, pure appearances, arising without bias. Death is certain and when death will occur is uncertain, remembering that it is not just words, and without leisure, turning away from gain and honor, and from the depths of the heart, attachment to Dharma, unnecessary things arise in the mind. Knowing all sentient beings as kind mothers, remembering the suffering of the wretched, thereby turning away from striving for only one's own happiness, please grant that effortless compassion arises. The only medicine that cures all diseases of clinging, the profound dependent origination, the meaning devoid of extremes, may the intention of the noble Nagarjuna and his sons be truly understood in the heart. Related to the mother, How many roots of virtue of self and others are there, May all of these, in life after life, Not mature even for a moment Into the causes of desire for knowledge, fame, Retinue and possessions, gain and respect, Which are contrary to the supreme enlightenment, But may they become the cause of unsurpassed enlightenment alone! By the blessings of the wondrous Buddhas and their sons, By the truth of the unfailing interdependence, And by the power of my pure intention, May this pure aspiration be accomplished! Thus, this supplication to the lineage lamas of close blessings, called "Ear of Accomplishments," was written by the greatly learned monk Lobsang Drakpa Pal (བློ་བཟང་གྲགས་པའི་དཔལ་, Tsongkhapa) at Lhashol of Degung Gyal (དེ་གུང་རྒྱལ།) , the king of snow mountains among the melodious sounds.
