Chapter Eight: Showing the Non-Duality of the Mind of Enlightenment Chapter Eight: Showing the Non-Duality of the Mind of Enlightenment All phenomena are one in the expanse, in self-arisen wisdom. Non-duality is the way the essence abides. Dualistic appearances arise unceasingly, playing from the power of expression. Naming appearances as non-dual, it is called the Mind of Enlightenment. The awareness that is without change is enlightenment. Samsara and nirvana arise without anything to abandon or attain. In the face of the yogi who is without grasping, this appearance in non-existence is wonderful and brings forth laughter. In non-existence, various appearances arise. In emptiness, it spreads extensively without beginning or end. Without grasping, there is attachment to 'I' and 'mine' separately. Without a root, it appears as a continuous succession of lifetimes. Without affirmation or negation, there is the acceptance and rejection of happiness and suffering. Looking outward, the appearances of beings are very strange. Holding what is untrue as true, it seems like the truth. Holding what is not mistaken as mistaken, it seems like a mistake. Holding what is uncertain as certain, it seems certain. Holding what is not as what is, it seems to be. Holding what is unsuitable as suitable, it seems suitable. Various trivial matters lead the mind through objects. Meaningless awareness continues in an unbroken stream for a moment. Days, nights, months, years, and lifetimes pass. Holding non-duality as duality deceives beings. Looking inward at the pure mind of the yogi, the awareness without a basis is free from names. It cannot be shown or expressed, and the structure of view, meditation, and action dissolves. Being relaxed, loose, vast, and spread out evenly, without knowing practice, there are no sessions or sectarian biases. Everything is unrestrained, spread out evenly, without interruption. Without attachment to body, place, or appearances, being spread out evenly like the vast expanse of the sky, there is no holding onto the 'inner dharma' as self. Looking outward at the objects of external appearances, everything is empty, illusory, and without substance. There are no mountains, depths, attachments, or bonds, free from dharma. Appearances, sounds, memories, awareness, experiences, and feelings are as before. What is this? Is it the appearance of a naturally mad person? Like in a dream, one laughs at oneself. Free from the concepts of enemy and friend, attachment and aversion, near and far, day and night are without distinction, equal and one. The cycle of clinging to targets and signs is purified. The nature of self-arisen wisdom is non-conceptual. It is beyond the cage of acceptance and rejection, abandonment and cultivation. Realizing this is non-dual wisdom. It goes to the intention of self-arisen Samantabhadra. There is no place to turn back, and the end of

Having reached the other shore. If equality is not realized from the self-arisen state, Clinging to the words of "non-duality," Not focusing on anything, presumptuously engaging in conceptual discrimination, This itself is a wrong view, the abyss of ignorance. Therefore, for the self-arisen and unchanging, Practice the King of Perfect Enlightenment, attaining the state of non-duality. The meaning of complete liberation from the three realms, the non-duality of samsara and nirvana, From within its own nature, the spontaneously arising fortress of the Dharmakaya, Pristine like the sky, arising beyond comparison. Between clinging to the distinctions of "this" and "that," Because of dwelling in duality, the confusion of self and other arises. When there is no difference or bias towards "this," When all is equal, without attachment or aim, Vajrasattva said, this is the realization of non-duality. From the Treasury of the Dharmadhatu, the eighth chapter on the teaching of non-duality in the mind of enlightenment is complete. Eighth Chapter: The Chapter on the Teaching of Non-Duality in the Mind of Enlightenment.
