First Chapter: Showing Non-Movement from the Realm of Dharmadhatu. First Chapter: Showing Non-Movement from the Realm of Dharmadhatu. Dha rma dhā tu ra ratna ko ṣa nā ma bi ja hā ra mra. Herein dwells the treatise called "The Treasury of the Precious Dharmadhatu." In Sanskrit: Dharma Dhatu Ratna Kosha Nama. In Tibetan: Called "The Treasury of the Precious Dharmadhatu." Homage to glorious Samantabhadra! The wondrous Dharma, spontaneously perfect from the beginning, the self-born wisdom, luminous Bodhicitta, the treasury from which arise appearances and existence, vessel and essence, samsara and nirvana, homage to the unmoving, free from elaboration! The pinnacle of vehicles, the realm of Mount Meru, sun and moon, the realm of luminous, spontaneously perfect Vajra essence, the realm of naturally abiding, without effort or practice, listen to the explanation of the primordially vast and wondrous! The basis from which all arises is the spontaneously perfect realm. Because its essence is emptiness and its nature is unceasing, nothing is established, yet everything appears. Although samsara and nirvana self-arise from the realm of the three kayas, it does not move from the dharmadhatu, the field of bliss of suchness. The great realm of mind-essence is the unchanging nature of space. The realm of compassion's miraculous display, unfixed in its play, all are not separate from the ornaments of the dharmadhatu. The power of Bodhicitta, gathering inward and outward, because it is nothing yet appears as anything, wondrous, miraculous, amazing Dharma! All sentient beings, appearing as forms, inside and out, are ornaments of the dharmadhatu, appearing as the wheel of the body. All sounds and voices, however many there may be, are ornaments of the dharmadhatu, appearing as the wheel of speech. Thoughts, awareness, movements, non-conceptual, immeasurable, are also ornaments of the dharmadhatu, appearing as the wheel of mind. The six classes of beings, the four modes of birth, do not move even a particle from the nature of the dharmadhatu. Appearances of grasping and apprehended, the six objects of existence, are also like illusions, appearing without existence in the nature of the dharmadhatu. Without support, clear and bright, primordially empty, vast and expansive, self-luminous as it is, it appears as an ornament of the dharmadhatu. How appearances and sounds arise in this great nature of the dharmadhatu, the spontaneously equal, unmoving Dharmakaya Bodhicitta, primordially abiding, self-empty, without transference or change, whatever appears is the nature of Dharma, the nature of self-born wisdom. Without action or effort, it swirls in a single realm of bliss. The self-luminous, unmoving Sambhogakaya is spontaneously perfect in its very appearance. Om.

The Dharma-nature is immutably, spontaneously vast. From the appearances of unmingled play, The meaning of emanated, self-born, wondrous illusion Is never moved from the actionless Samantabhadra. In the nature of bodhichitta without precipices, Though the three bodies are spontaneously perfected without effort, It is not moved from the expanse, spontaneously accomplished, uncreated. Though the bodies, wisdoms, and activities are spontaneously perfected, The expanse of the great assembly, primordially complete, great luminosity, Is a field spontaneously accomplished from the beginning, without change. Even seeing the Dharma-nature from the state of Dharma-dhatu, Unobstructed knowledge dawns as an ornament of the expanse. Without doing or accomplishing, it is the very nature of abiding from the beginning, Like the sun and sky, a wondrous and marvelous Dharma. In this womb of the expanse, spontaneously accomplished from the beginning, Samsara is Samantabhadra, nirvana is excellent. In the realm of Samantabhadra, samsara and nirvana are primordially nonexistent. Appearance is Samantabhadra, emptiness is Samantabhadra. In the realm of Samantabhadra, appearance and emptiness are primordially nonexistent. Birth and death are Samantabhadra, pleasure and pain are Samantabhadra. In the realm of Samantabhadra, pleasure, pain, birth, and death are nonexistent. Self and other are Samantabhadra, permanence and annihilation are Samantabhadra. In the realm of Samantabhadra, self, other, permanence, and annihilation are nonexistent. Grasping at nonexistence as existence is labeled delusion. On the self-nature, like a rootless dream, Attachment to the self-characteristics of samsara and nirvana is very strange. All is Samantabhadra, the great spontaneously accomplished one, Since it does not err, does not mistake, and does not change into error, Existence is merely a name, beyond the limits of existence and nonexistence. No one, nowhere, has ever been deluded before. Now they are not deluded, and in the future, they will not become deluded. This is the primordial purity of the three realms. Because there is no delusion, there is no Dharma of non-delusion. From the beginning, spontaneously accomplished, the great self-born awareness, It is not liberated, is not being liberated, and will not be liberated. In the past, liberation was merely a name; no one has ever been liberated. It will not change into liberation; bondage is primordially nonexistent. Like the sky, completely pure, without limits, without partiality. This is the primordial purity of complete liberation. In short, from the womb of the vast, spontaneously accomplished expanse, Whatever arises as samsara and nirvana from the power of play, From the very moment of arising, samsara and nirvana have never existed. Whatever arises as dreams from the power of sleep, In reality, it is nonexistent; the bed of self-awareness is bliss. It is spread out evenly in the great, spontaneously equal vastness. From the treasury of the Dharma-dhatu, the precious one, The chapter showing that samsara and nirvana do not move from the Dharma-dhatu, is the first. The first: Showing that samsara and nirvana do not move from the Dharma-dhatu.
