Twenty-first Chapter: Showing the Boundaries of Traveling the Path. Twenty-first Chapter: Showing the Boundaries of Traveling the Path. Having meditated in this way, the path to be traveled, combining the outer and inner, is well explained. The four paths of accumulation, preparation, seeing, and meditation are completed, and Buddhahood is achieved. Therefore, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment are also taught as pure Dharma in the mandalas. When the wind and mind of the four wheels are workable, the qualities of the four paths appear in sequence. From the loosening of the two knots of the central channel, the qualities of the ten bhumis are considered to appear from within. When the wind and mind are workable in the nirmāṇakāya chakra, the signs of heat of the three paths of accumulation appear. One sees the face of the Buddha's nirmāṇakāya, and the nirmāṇakāya expands. In the small path of accumulation, mindfulness is established, and the body is generated as a deity, which is the establishment of mindfulness of the body. Transforming arising feelings and conceptualizations into wisdom is the establishment of mindfulness of feelings. Meditating on the cessation of elaboration of mind and mental factors is the establishment of mindfulness of mind, which is the stage of completion. Knowing that all phenomena that appear are like illusions is said in the tantras to be the establishment of mindfulness of phenomena. In the intermediate path, the sequence of the four correct abandonments is as follows: Having meditated in this way, the four attachments to virtue and non-virtue are the four correct abandonments. Non-virtuous dharmas that have not arisen are not allowed to arise, and effort and diligence are exerted to destroy those that have arisen. Virtuous dharmas that have not arisen are caused to arise, and effort and diligence are exerted to increase those that have arisen. In the great path, the four legs of miraculous power are also meditated upon. Without being distracted from the meaning of generation and completion, with one-pointedness, after meditating on the faultless and peaceful samādhi of mindfulness, aspiration, investigation, and mind, the wind and mind become workable, and miraculous powers are well accomplished. One travels to pure lands and listens to the Dharma from the nirmāṇakāya. Because the wind and mind of the wheel of Dharma are workable, the qualities of the path of preparation appear. By meditating on the five faculties of faith, diligence, mindfulness, samādhi, and wisdom at the peak of heat, one becomes skilled in the nature of dreams and illusions, and possesses the qualities of having practiced the accomplishment of truthful speech. There are no lice, fleas, insects, or ants on the body. Meditating on patience and the supreme Dharma, which are the nature of the five powers, cuts off the bad destinies, stabilizes the roots of virtue, and samādhi and miraculous powers are superior to the previous ones.

Where is it superior? Because the wind-mind of the enjoyment wheel is capable, In the path of seeing, which sees the truth of non-discrimination, It masters the twelve hundred thousand qualities, Travels through the pure lands of the Sambhogakaya, and sees the Buddhas of the five families. Mindfulness, Samadhi, wisdom, diligence, equanimity, joy, And perfect pliancy, the seven branches of perfect enlightenment, Are also completely fulfilled. Because the wind-mind of the great bliss wheel is capable, The qualities of the nine grounds of the path of meditation arise, The three small ones: stainless light, light-maker, and tiny. The three medium ones: difficult to tame, manifest, and long-gone. The three great ones: immovable, good intelligence, and great cloud of dharma. The qualities of each of these are vast, Twelve thousand and so on are extremely vast, Because the knots of the subtle channels are completely loosened, Cyclic existence's nature, the afflictive wind-mind, subsides. The supreme wind of wisdom, the peace of Nirvana, increases. Thus, from those travels of the ten grounds, In the central channel, there are twenty-one solitary knots. By untying them two by two, each of the ten grounds is attained. Finally, the supreme ground of the summit of the crown is accomplished. When one has gone to the realization of the higher ones, On those paths of travel up to Buddhahood, These qualities are like the sun and its rays. Some say that the qualities of the grounds and paths are the true meaning. Some say that although realization is attained, there are no qualities. The idea of having both or neither is a foolish mind. Clinging and fixating on one's own view, Abandon this kind of slandering of the unerring Dharma. Here, from meditating on the path, a collection of qualities arises, Increasing like summer flowers, Because one desires Buddhahood by traveling the grounds and paths, Although the body and wisdom are like jewels, They are not an example of matter, but from non-conceptual spontaneous accomplishment, Limitless beings pervade up to the peak of existence. This is said to be in accordance with the intention of the sutras and tantras. From the Treasury of Wish-Fulfilling Jewels, a treatise on the essential instructions of the Great Vehicle, The Twenty-First Chapter, Showing the Boundaries of Traveling the Paths, is complete. Twenty-first: Chapter showing the boundaries of traveling the paths.
