Chapter Twenty: Showing the Meditation on Supreme Clear Light Chapter Twenty: Showing the Meditation on Supreme Clear Light This is the intention of the section. From the treatise of the Great Vehicle's oral instructions, the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Treasury, the Nineteenth Chapter, which precedes meditation. Then, how to meditate on the main practice? First, in solitary and delightful pure places, as soon as the preliminary practices are completed in order, one should meditate on the main practice of clear light wisdom. Also, since wisdom does not arise without skillful means, one should first seek meditation through various skillful means. From the support of the object of focus, non-focus arises, and from that, the wisdom of reality dawns. Therefore, the order of generating calm abiding first, should be meditated as it is said in one's own lineage. Here, a brief summary is shown: The body has channels and places, and on them are winds and essences. Because of their dependent nature, it is important to cherish those key points. Straighten the body, sit in the vajra posture, cover the knees with the hands, and slightly raise the neck. The breath should be even, and the eyes should not move. Gently exhale stale air and hold the air inside. The air is combined, the three channels and chakras are clear. By meditating on the color, number, sensation, and shape, conceptual thoughts naturally cease, and one abides in clarity and purity. Recognize non-conceptual wisdom and meditate on insight. Then, the order of training in the essences is also: A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:阿) Sha (藏文:ཤ,梵文天城体:श,梵文罗马拟音:śa,汉语字面意思:夏), with fire melting the rabbit-marked one, after practicing non-conceptuality in the state of great bliss, from the top and bottom of the three channels in the center of the four chakras, like the movement of the sun and moon, they merge equally into the central channel. In the center, the intermingling of E (藏文:ཨེ,梵文天城体:ए,梵文罗马拟音:e,汉语字面意思:埃) Vam (藏文:ཝཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:旺) is the union of the two, possessing five qualities, extremely subtle, from the very nature of clear light. For the most excellent ones, it is the form of space, while for others, non-conceptual calm abiding is accomplished. From the sutras and treatises, holding the mind on the support of the wind and external objects of focus, is shown to be the same as accomplishing calm abiding. The insight wisdom accomplished by that method is: In that state of clarity and bliss, whether abiding or not abiding, whether existing or not existing, whether being or not being, the radiance that transcends expression and designation, self-awareness, free from elaboration, clear and bright, vast and without direction, like the sky, clear and unwavering, like the disc of the sun and moon, free from the turbidity of all conceptual thoughts, like the ocean, the self-arisen wisdom, the mind itself, clear light, is recognized by the holy ones.

The body of intention. The co-emergent should be constantly meditated upon. Whatever conceptualizations of characteristics arise, may they be liberated in that very nature, like waves in water. Cherish the self-pacification of letting go, without losing clarity. Do not sink, do not become dull, do not become agitated. Do not cling, do not move, be free from all activities. With pure contemplation, wisdom flows continuously. Meditate on the co-emergent, self-born wisdom. This is the extremely profound essence of the instruction. From this, eyes and clairvoyance will arise, day and night, meditation will be freed from faults, the cloud of retention, the sun of wisdom, will rise from within. As the channels and winds become workable, the accumulation of qualities will increase, and by progressing upwards through the levels, the two kinds of accomplishment will be attained. Therefore, familiarize yourself with such key points. In what lacks key points, freedom from elaboration is lost in words. The craft of conceptualization is vast, free from extremes, and possesses conviction. Although one counts the arising and ceasing of whatever conceptualizations arise, the meaning of the nature of reality is as distant as heaven and earth. The open, complete, and interconnectedness is severed. By defining the boundaries between the scattered and the clear, one desires to see the meaning, but instead engages in meaningless, inverted actions. Because the boundaries change in an instant, who allows entry in the interval between before and after meditation? Because such evil paths contradict the sutras and tantras, those who desire liberation should abandon them from afar. The best point the finger, the middling let it be, the lowest practice individually, so they say, a dark-minded person, an unprecedented elephant. Unthinking from all scriptures. The twentieth chapter, which teaches the meditation on the supreme luminosity.
