Collected Teachings of Ngawang Lodro Drakpa JNLD309: How to Recite, Meditate, and Dedicate at the Beginning and End of Daily Virtuous Actions. 9-365 How to Recite, Meditate, and Dedicate at the Beginning and End of Daily Virtuous Actions. First, say this: Namo (Homage). In the boundless, vast realms of the ten directions, Abide all-seeing Buddhas, treasures of compassion. Boundless bodhisattva retinues and assemblies of disciples, May those with supreme wisdom and eyes consider this. Now, with sincere reverence from the depths of my heart, I prostrate through the doors of body, speech, and mind. I offer vast clouds of offerings, both real and imagined, I confess all sins and rejoice in all virtues. To tame beings, manifest endless forms, I beseech you to continuously turn the wheel of Dharma and not pass into nirvana. May all the accumulated merit and virtuous collections here, Be blessed as the cause for the supreme two benefits. After reciting this three times, at the end of whatever virtuous actions are accomplished (such as recitations, etc.), say this: Wonderful Lord of wisdom, love, and power, like an ocean, Amazing are the vast deeds of body, speech, and mind, Buddhas, bodhisattvas, and disciples of the ten directions, The great power of all who abide there. May the virtuous collections, stainless as the white moon, And all the virtuous gatherings I have diligently accumulated here, Through the power of combining all these virtues into one, May it benefit all beings and bring about goodness. May all virtuous collections become the cause of liberation, Completely abandoning the suffering of samsara, Experiencing the feast of the profound and peaceful Dharma, May the foundation of the path be properly established. Gradually training in the great mind of bodhichitta, Well-trained in the practices of the bodhisattvas, Increasing benefit and happiness for all mother beings, May I practice the good deeds of benefiting both self and others. In the meantime, may all that is done in all situations, Turn towards the path of goodness and virtue, May it only benefit self and others entirely, And may it not be stained by any harm or fault. Whatever actions are undertaken, may they be in accordance with the Dharma, Without diminishing from any sinful deeds, On the path of stainless, pure virtue, May all the efforts of this life be transformed there. Through these ways of accumulating merit, For the sake of all sentient beings, without delay, May I attain the state of unsurpassed enlightenment, And may it become the supreme cause for benefiting beings. The End. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From this life onwards, Through the power of accumulating virtue and only meaningful actions, As soon as I abandon this coarse illusory body, May I avert all lower rebirths in samsara. In the next life, in a pure land of pure karma and aspiration, In the special abode of the five classes of Dakinis (referring to the pure lands of the Five Dhyani Buddhas), And in the mantra fields practiced on the earth of Jambudvipa (referring to this world we live in), etc., May I be transferred to wherever I have karmic connections. As soon as I am born in that good place, May the wisdom of Dharma arise from the power of past accumulations of virtue and aspirations. May I be free from all internal and external obstacles, and may all goodness be complete, May I become the supreme object of taming for that field's lord. May I therefore be taken care of by the holy protector (referring to the Guru or Yidam), May the increase of realization of Sutra and Tantra flourish, May I completely perfect the glory of both benefits (self and others), May I accomplish spontaneously fulfilling activities. Thus, whatever is wished for, May the compassion of the Lama, the Three Jewels, and the Buddhas, Just as it is, without hindrance, completely accomplish all virtuous deeds, May it become the source of all the good things of samsara and nirvana. With this, may it be adorned at the end with the dedication of merit and pure aspirations. Done by Mati (author's name) for the benefit of beings. This is the procedure for how to recite, contemplate, and chant at the beginning, middle, and end of whatever virtuous deeds one does daily. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
