NKL325 of Ngawang Kunga Lodro's Teachings, A Method for Suppressing the Affliction of the Lord of Hosts (Skt: Śrī Gaṇapati) by the Demon Besedong: The Iron Mountain. A Method for Suppressing the Affliction of the Lord of Hosts by the Demon Besedong: The Iron Mountain. A Method for Suppressing the Affliction of the Lord of Hosts by the Demon Besedong: The Iron Mountain. Homage to the Guru Vajrapani! The Practical Method for Suppressing the Demon Besedong Afflicting Gaṇapati: Take an old drum skin similar to a Bon drum, wash it clean, making it about a span high. Mix the blood of two black dogs with the juice of poisonous aconite to make ink. Inside a triangle, draw a figure with a human body and an elephant head, black with a red nose, its hands and feet bound with iron chains. At its heart, write 'ག་དུ་ཛཿ' (Tibetan, Devanagari: गदुजः, Romanized Sanskrit: gadujaḥ, no literal meaning). Above it, write 'ག' (Tibetan, Devanagari: ग, Romanized Sanskrit: ga, Tibetan letter), and below it, write 'ཛཿ' (Tibetan, Devanagari: जः, Romanized Sanskrit: jaḥ, Tibetan letter). Above and below these, write 'གནོད་སྦྱིན་བསེ་གདོང་ཅན་ཨ་ཀརྵ་ཡ་ཛཿ' (Tibetan, Yaksha Besedong Akarshaya Jaḥ, Devanagari: yakṣa bese dong akarṣaya jaḥ, Romanized Sanskrit: yakṣa bese dong akarṣaya jaḥ, Yaksha Besedong, Attract!). Write each phrase once, place it on black ashes inside an iron pot in front of you, and cover it with any black cloth or silk. Arrange the torma offerings for subjugation and the offerings for the Lord of Hosts. As described in the writings of the omniscient Könchok Lhündrup and other previous masters, complete the self-generation and front generation offerings for subjugation and the Lord of Hosts. Then, remove the covering, purify with Sumbaḥṇi, and cleanse with Svābhāva. From emptiness, generate a triangular dark blue fire pit. Within it, the syllable 'ཏྲི་' (Tibetan, Devanagari: त्रि, Romanized Sanskrit: tri, three) transforms into the demon Besedong, a black figure with a human body and an elephant head, a red nose, its hands and feet bound with iron chains, appearing emaciated and miserable. Holding the vajra and bell (Vajra-ghaṇṭā) and making the Hūṃ mudrā, imagine that from the hearts of both yourself and the front generation, countless dark blue rays of light like iron hooks emanate, attracting the demon Besedong from wherever it dwells, and dissolving it into the liṅga in front of you. Recite: 'Homage to the venerable root and lineage gurus...' etc. Finally, make a statement of truth. By the blessing of the great truth, 'The demon Besedong who obstructs the practice of the Lord of Hosts, Akarshaya Jaḥ, Jaḥ Hūṃ Vaṃ Hoḥ!' At the same time, make a gesture of beckoning with two fingers. Repeat this three or seven times. Then, from the heart of yourself, clearly visualized as the deity, emanate fierce and violent dark blue rays of light, like a rain of weapons, striking the demon's body, binding its limbs, intoxicating its mind, closing its senses, weakening its power, and completely subduing it. With firm divine pride, recite: 'Oṃ Sumbaḥṇi... Vidyārāja Hūṃ Hūṃ Phat Svāhā! Gadu Jaḥ, Māraya Hur Th...

Uma dzaḥ Ga du dzaḥ, māraya rbada. Ga du dzaḥ, stambhaya nana. After reciting this connectedly about seven or twenty-one times, recite 'Ga du dzaḥ' to 'rbad nan' individually about thirty times. Then, recite 'Sumbhani' and other mixed mantras as before, three or seven times, etc. Then, recite 'Ga du dzaḥ' and other individual mantras a hundred or a thousand times, etc. Finally, when concluding the session, press the thun ling (ritual cake) mixed with poison and black cumin into a container, being careful not to scatter it, and recite the mixed mantras such as 'Sumbhani' and 'Ga du'. Then, roll it from the right side and place the tip of the thun ling facing upwards into the horn of a bull. Fix the lower end of the horn with a peg, and bind it with colored thread. Recite three times: 'Oṃ wakka vajra tiṣṭha hūṃ. Oṃ vajra pāṇi para gaṇi samaye svāhā'. Place as many blessed tsatsas (sāccha) and deity images as possible, such as the 'Sāccha me po can hūṃ' four images, etc., and visualize that it is suppressed by a blessed seal, unable to be liberated even after a thousand kalpas. Then the placement ceremony can be performed. Make four thuns in this way, continuing for twenty-one days, etc., until signs appear. During the summoning and recitation of mantras and preparation of the thun, take it out of the horn and arrange it in an iron vessel as before. During the intervals of the thun, collect it as before. After doing this, dreams will occur of killing a black bull, binding and throwing fierce animals off a cliff, and killing and expelling black people, etc. Continue the practice as before, and finally place the linga (phallus) into the horn, fill it with the previously crushed thun materials, seal it with a peg, and bind it with blue and red colored thread. Completely seal the horn, not allowing water to leak out, maintain a clear visualization of the generation stage, and recite 'Sumbhani'. In the southwest direction of the practice room, on a rock, dig a triangular hole one cubit deep and nine fingers wide, place the horn with the tip facing down, and place the previous tsatsa on top, fix it with plaster, and seal it with a lid painted with a vajra cross. After that, cover it with earth and stones, making it inconspicuous and secure. Recite 'Oṃ wakka vajra' and other previous mantras a hundred or a thousand times, etc., as much as possible. The mental focus should also be as before. On the other side of the practice room, perform the tsog (feast) offering and subsequent rituals. After doing this, because of practicing the Ganapati (Lord of Hosts), obstacles will not arise, accomplishment will be achieved within twenty-one days, and it is said that even one's five generations of disciples will not need to wear amulets. This text was compiled by Sakya Ngagwang Kunga Lodro (ngag dbang kun dga' blo gros) based on the works of Yarlungpa (yar klung pa) and Bagchen Lodro Gyaltsen (bdag chen blo gros rgyal mtshan), and the scribe is Zhulungpa (gzhu lung pa). At this time, oneself and the patron should make offerings to the Three Jewels, and the Sangha should... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
