Explanation of the Five Yak Horns of Tsedong Explanation of the Five Yak Horns of Tsedong: May it be auspicious! Namo Guru Caturbhukha Ye! The activities of all the Buddhas of the three times, Are united in the emanation of Mahadeva. Well-built protector of the teachings, Supreme among all the powerful ones, May Vajra Black Great One bestow auspiciousness! The history of this support, which dwells as if seeing the powerful one with his retinue who seizes power, is as follows: The lineage of the Khon Sakyapa of the Lha race, who hold the three supreme names, ruled over the entire lineage, and among the Labrang (palaces) called Goye-wa, the former Tsedo Labrang, later known as Tsedong Labrang, was born into this special lineage. The great master, the powerful Kunga Samdrub, like the sun of the teachings in degenerate times, became the elder brother Rinpoche of the mantra-holding Dharma King. In general, he was the master of the ocean of Sutra and Tantra, having completed the recitation of countless peaceful and wrathful deities, and was the crown jewel of the learned, virtuous, and excellent. In particular, he was known to command the ocean of oath-bound protectors, like a person speaking to another, and to accomplish whatever peaceful, increasing, powerful, and wrathful activities he wished without hindrance. At that time, in the area of Gyere, the Dharma estate of that holy one, a one-horned cow appeared, an emanation of the general mother of protectors, Ekajati One Braid). He took great care of this cow. And prophesied, 'A calf with a special face will be born from this.' As he said, a special calf was born in that year, and later, as it grew, it grew five horns that matched the colors of the main deity and retinue of Zhalu. The great master himself used this cow as his mount, and it plowed the Kangchenmo (ཁང་མན་ཆེན་མོ།), resulting in a larger and purer harvest than before. All such immediate and wonderful activities were accomplished effortlessly and spontaneously. During the lifetime of that great master, or shortly thereafter, the wisdom being passed away. The samaya being was in a tangible form, and the Tsedong Lamas incorporated into it the essence of many body, speech, and mind supports, and again blessed it to be inseparable from the samaya and wisdom beings. In the meantime, if it wandered elsewhere, it quickly showed fierce signs, so it was invited to this great Dharma monastery, and the great Phurba practice was started in the Sheep year, and at the same time, a special protector shrine was built in this cool garden. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I beseech you, the mandala of deities endowed with six qualities, to remain until the end of samsara. By making this supplication, you will surely bestow all temporary and ultimate benefits and happiness. Thus, abide in the place of offering, dominion, and taming. For the time being, it seems appropriate to proceed according to the old oral tradition of the people of Tse Dongpa. Later, if more detailed biographies of the former masters can be found, they will be gradually added. Please be aware of this. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
