Awang Kunga Lodro's Teachings NKL209 'Seventeen Protector Offering - Cutting Off Enemies and Obstacles' 5-971 'Seventeen Protector Offering - Cutting Off Enemies and Obstacles' Swasti! The method of performing the Gyiluk tradition protector offering is as follows: Make one large triangular torma, surrounded by sixteen smaller ones of the same kind, decorated beautifully with butter and meat. If possible, erect a blue arrow banner. Arrange offerings and alcohol. After completing the self-generation and torma offering, add the smoke of a large gugul incense. Accompanied by drums and music, recite: Hum Ya! From the sphere of space, from the center of the blazing charnel ground, Mahakala (Great Black One) and the assembly of Yama (Lord of Death) male and female, remembering the vows and commitments of the past, descend here and sit on the lotus sun seat. Om Shri Mahakala Ya Ya Mara Ra Ra Saparivara Vajra Samaja Padma Surya Vetali Tishtantu (嗡 舍利 玛哈嘎拉 亚 亚 玛茹阿 惹匝 及其眷属 班匝 萨玛匝 莲花 太阳 贝达里 安住). Hum Ya! In the center of the triangular blue, on top of the eight spokes of the weapon wheel, Mahakala (Great Black One) appears in a fierce dark blue form. In the eight directions are the Yama attendants. In the east are Yawati and the female messenger, in the south are the Dharma King (Choskyi Gyalpo) and the fanged female, in the west are Telpa and the club-bearing female, in the north are the bull-headed one (Langgo) and the iron hook female, in the northeast are the nine-tufted hair and the time-night female, in the northwest are the target (Migpa) and the rope female, in the southwest are Yama Chyasang (Shinje Chyasang) and the skull garland, in the southeast are Yama Red Eyes (Shinje Mikmar) and the subduing mother. 5-972 The main deity and retinue are all in fierce dark blue attire, holding curved knives and skull cups, together with the eight classes of beings. Residing in the center of the wisdom fire, with the retinue, with the six-fold support and the ocean of offering tormas, blessed by meditation, mantra, and mudra, offer with a sincere heart, please accept with compassion. May the Dharma and the Dharma holders flourish, and may the world be happy. In particular, may we, the patrons, offerers, and retinue, pacify all karmic obscurations, afflictions, sins, and harms, increase goodness, and gather the three realms under our control. May the ten fields be complete, and all enemies and obstacles, especially we, the teachers, students, and retinue, may all internal, external, and secret obstacles to the practice of the Dharma be quickly cut off without delay, and may flesh, blood, and bones be enjoyed as a feast. May their consciousness be led to the pure realm of Dharma. May all misleading spirits and non-human forces be reduced to ashes, accomplishing the activity of subjugation. Arrogant hosts, inseparable as body and shadow, accomplishing all deeds of guarding, protecting, and concealing, may you swiftly attain the glorious state of Heruka. Hum Ya! Glorious Protector Black Cloak, holding a curved knife and skull cup, adorned with charnel grounds, seated upon a lotus and sun disc crossed, I praise you, great protector of the doctrine! Eight great worldly mothers, possessing terrifying ornaments and attire, inflicting plagues upon the armies of enemies of the doctrine, I praise the eight chief mothers! Eight terrifying Yama lords of action, with fierce and violent power, taking the life breath of the enemies of the doctrine, I praise the eight executioners of action! Protector, partake of the pledged substances of the wheel, partake of Jaga and Jambuti fruit, partake of the red flesh and blood torma, partake of the offering of the essence of medicinal alcohol, protect and guard us and our retinue, scatter those who harm the doctrine into dust, according to the command of the root lineage lamas, may the entrusted tasks be accomplished! Having spoken thus, send the torma to a clean place, and perform the subsequent rituals as usual. This was quickly written as the daily practice of Kyoda Tulku Jamyang Tenzin Zangpo by Sakya Kunlo on an auspicious day of the waning moon of the middle winter month of the Earth Rabbit year, may it be auspicious!
