NKL60 Teachings of Ngawang Kunga Lodro: Regulations for Kitchen Staff Regulations for Kitchen Staff Regulations for Kitchen Staff. May there be well-being!). Here, we, the kitchen staff who take turns, must ensure that our work is free of errors. Designate one tea master and three people, including the water carrier and the one who takes turns boiling water, to take responsibility. No matter what you do, the most important thing is to have a pure motivation, not to be ashamed of the Three Jewels (the objects of refuge in Buddhism), not to let yourself suffer severe punishment in this life for misconduct, not to let others gossip, and not to let yourself fall into evil paths and suffer in the next life. Take your own conscience as a witness and be able to restrain yourself. Therefore, be prepared. In terms of work arrangements, first, take very clean water as the basis for cooking, and the water container should also be clean and free of odors, and equipped with a lid. When taking water, put the container on the back frame from the kitchen to the water point, and pay attention to hygiene when taking water. After taking the water, immediately move it indoors, and it is very important not to leave it outside at all. All the tea sets and other utensils in the kitchen should also be kept clean, and whatever food is prepared should be delicious in color, aroma, and taste, satisfying both oneself and others, without causing physical discomfort, and without causing cold or hot diseases, which is beneficial to physical health. Ultimately, both the cook and the eater can complete the perfection of generosity (梵文:dāna-pāramitā,布施度) and obtain the food of meditation. Do your best to complete these tasks. For our own small offerings, and during the offering process, we must eliminate all faults such as greed, hatred, and theft, and you must all attach importance to having correct behavior and favorable conditions. The staff working in this kitchen, as well as those responsible for food, accommodation, offerings, management, female relatives, and housekeepers, except for the above-mentioned personnel, no one else is allowed to enter. The source of food is also limited to ourselves, our family, and the female relatives related to it. Only concubines and female relatives can live together, and our own special arrangements, other than that, no contact with others is allowed, so as to ensure cleanliness. The tea master is responsible for the main work, and the water carrier and the water boiler take turns working. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
