Homage! With the three-fold lineage and the dakinis, I prostrate to Orgyen Padma, the supreme ultimate wish-fulfilling essence. Written for the benefit of beings. When in the city of Lotus, look to where the noble Avalokiteshvara resides. The meaning of what is heard is taken into practice by sending circumstances to meet the moment. Dissolving into self-clarity without a trace, the nature is clear and free from impurities. From the eight key points of the arising of bliss in the nature of reality, the first is dissolving the abiding nature into the moment. The intention of self-arisen wisdom beyond the mind is always present, no matter when it arises or abides. If one does not recognize it, one forcibly grasps it. When the mind arises or abides, one stares at one's own face. The awareness that is neither arising nor abiding emerges clearly and purely. It is recognized as being completely open and free from calculations of whether it is right or wrong. By not being distracted from its essence, the dharmakaya self-arises, dissolving conceptualization into space. The second is dissolving experiences and appearances into the moment. From that habit, when experiences of bliss, clarity, non-thought, and inconceivability arise, if there is attachment and clinging, one stares at the essence of that experience as before. One sees that it is free from the consciousness of grasping at extremes. By recognizing that, pride and clinging to affirmation and negation are dissolved. The third is dissolving negative circumstances into the moment. At that time, in order to purify bad karma, negative external circumstances arise in layers. Beatings, robbery, theft, slander, and so on, and various unpleasant things occur. When the pain is greater than before, the pain of negative circumstances gradually arises. When the awareness is perfected, one stares inward at oneself. In that instant, it subsides on its own, and the wisdom of emptiness and clarity, which is self-arisen, arises as great clarity and purity. The fourth is dissolving the appearance of objects into the moment. When some awareness is distracted by the desires of the five objects, one focuses one's awareness on that object and stares at it. Self-clarity arises without obscuration. This is called dissolving the six objects into the nature of reality. The fifth is dissolving sickness into the moment. When more sickness arises than before, the pain of the sickness is the basis of virtue.

- PAGE 168 -- PAGE 169 -- PAGE 167 -

Therefore, when gazing intently at the feeling of pain, one finds that there is neither cause nor agent, and it appears nakedly, so recognize it. Sixth, obstacles are liberated upon encounter: At that time, the obstacles, being unbearable, will display miracles. When one looks at the essence of whatever miracle appears, the one who fears and the object of fear are liberated upon encounter, and fear and dread arise as the wheel of dharmata. Seventh, the five poisons are liberated upon encounter: When thoughts such as desire arise in succession, recognize the completion of the skill. Upon that, gaze intently and fiercely, and the disturbing thoughts of affliction will arise as wisdom, appearing more blissful, clear, and lucid than before, accompanied by the valor of non-thought. Eighth, death-thoughts are liberated upon encounter: At that time, various doubts will arise in relation to the Dharma and one's own meditation, and thoughts of the fear of death will arise, so gaze intently at the doubts, including the inner and outer objects and the thoughts of doubt. One will see it as like a rootless sky, and one should not doubt anything, but eliminate it by realizing it as rootless and baseless. When one gazes intently at the essence of death-thoughts, one will see it as traceless, self-luminous, and empty, and even though the body is discarded as indivisible particles, awareness is insubstantial, self-luminous, and has no death. When one looks at the essence of awareness, one sees that birth and death are greatly separated from the ground. One sees the deathless, innate wisdom, and gains great confidence in not fearing death. These complete the conditions for one person's path. Self-arisen awareness is vast and unbounded, do not restrain it with the reins of the mind, but release the knots. By virtue, may all beings from the beginning attain perfect enlightenment, may they attain the state of great spontaneous perfection.
