༄༅། །A list of the order of the four empowerments. Homage to the five classes of ḍākinīs! The empowerment ritual of the Heart Drop of the Khadro, which leads those with attachment onto the path, it says. Therefore, do it for three days. On the first evening, give a torma to the local deities and take the ground, and build the mandala platform. Do the preliminary ritual. On the second evening, draw the mandala during the day. At night, bring the students into the mandala and give the vase empowerment. It is fine to also let other people in. This ripens the individuals and students in common. On the last evening, make no more than three individuals who possess the characteristics, and without dismantling the mandala, arrange many tsok offerings and tormas. At dusk, give the secret empowerment in the south of the mandala. At midnight, give the wisdom-jñāna empowerment in the west of the mandala. At dawn, give a detailed introduction to the four empowerments in the north of the mandala, and after sunrise, enjoy the tsok. Also do singing, dancing, and music. Then, dismiss the mandala, throw the torma, and do auspicious dedication and aspiration prayers. I, Orgyen Padmasambhava, have written down the list of the order of the four empowerments. Then give the wisdom-jñāna empowerment and have them rely on a consort until the meaning of bliss and emptiness can be manipulated at will. Then give the word empowerment and have them meditate on trekchö until they truly understand its meaning. Then give the power empowerment and introduce tögal, and have them meditate on the four visions until they are perfected. There is no contradiction in giving all the empowerments at the same time.
