The miraculous embodiment, the single essence of compassion of all Buddhas, The glorious Karmapa, master of a hundred lineages, To propagate his activity, you appear as a loving protector in human form, The renowned Tāyi Situ, manifestly present. From the realm of Dharma, with a stable emanation, You hold the white umbrella, skillfully arranging the source of goodness, Skilled in radiating the all-pervading light of wisdom, O glorious protector of beings, supreme guide on the excellent path. For the sake of beings like myself, throughout vast kalpas, By the power of the Three Jewels, Three Roots, and the truth of the sages, May your supreme body, unchanging like the sky, Upon the indestructible vajra throne of the five mother lineages, May the eternal swastika of life remain steadfast and firm, May your wondrous and amazing activities of the supreme Dharma flourish, May your activities adorn the ocean, pervading all realms, May the reflection of your form be unwavering, swift as an arrow, Conquering the Lord of Death, may you attain the immortal vajra body, May your feet remain steadfast and unmoving forever, I pray for your blessings to ripen and liberate myself and others. This prayer for the long life of the Seventh Karma Situ Chökyi Jungne was offered by Tshewang Norbu Sonam Tenzin Zangpo, born in the forest called Lhatakbu of Katok, the heart of Dokham (Kham region, now Sichuan), who acted like a protector of wealth among the mantra-holders and monks, at Zurmang Wenzong Chögar on the twenty-first day of the Monkey month of the Iron Bird year of Kundun, may it be auspicious. ༈ A Prayer for the Long Life of Situ Chökyi Jungne.
