In the Earth-Snake year, the ministers and subjects of Kathmandu, Nepal, offered the finest silk. In the Earth-Snake year, the ministers and subjects of Kathmandu, Nepal, offered the finest silk. Om Svasti! Namo Guruve! The glory that embodies all Buddhas of the three times, Orgyen, the Lotus-born, the Great Bliss Land, may it always adorn the crown of my head. Even having attained the state of enlightenment, it should not be abandoned. Here in the snowy land of Tibet, among the race of humans, in the kingdom of Buddhadharma and yogis, the wise minister of the King of Nepal, who has become a friend of my mind, speaks thus: "Whatever items you need, we will send them from this kingdom of Nepal." Through the clear transmission of the lute of words, the beautiful verses stirred by the fingers are generally excellent. However, I am for the sake of limitless beings, to accomplish the state of perfect peace and enlightenment, I have no need for worldly affairs. Let me briefly describe its characteristics here: In the land of Nepal, the skilled artisans, the source of the statues they create, but I rely on self-arisen statues, and have no interest in gold, copper, or sandalwood statues. Likewise, Nepal is the source of learning, although there are many grammar and rhetoric texts, I focus my mind on indestructible sound, so I have no need for vocabulary texts. Because it is close to the holy land, even though Kashmiri silk, like Indra's bow, comes from Nepal, I desire fine clothes of shame and modesty, and have no desire for cotton or silk. Excellent medicines rare in Tibet, though plentiful in Nepal, but I rely on the medicine that dispels suffering, the nectar of the sacred Dharma, so I have no need to desire the medicines of Nepal's borders. Other copper and iron utensils from the land of Nepal, though necessary for ordinary people, but I am content with the state of arising desire, I spit on copper and iron utensils. Rice, sugar, molasses, beans, etc., though they are the food of the people of Nepal, but I am content with living on meager food, so I have no attachment to sweet and delicious food. Birds and wild animals with wonderful plumage, sweet voices, knowing the time, temporarily, though they may be wonderful, like dream images, I have no attachment to the true meaning. Therefore, even the wonderful utensils of Nepal,

For a yogi without worldly desires, solitude is what is needed. Those with few desires and contentment possess the noble treasure. In this, I am always rich. However, since Nepal is a place of accomplishment, I have some things that should be done. Some have been accomplished, but some are still not. In the language of the sacred land, it is called "Svayambhu Caitya"(藏文:སྭ་ཡམ་བྷུ་ཙྱཻ་ཏ།,梵文天城体:स्वयम्भू चैत्य,梵文罗马拟音:Svayambhū caitya,汉语字面意思:Self-Arisen Stupa). Those in the snowy lands call it "The Holy Tree." Seeing that the time has come for renovation, For the sake of the well-being of all in China, Nepal, and Tibet, I wish to offer selfless service. For the merit of the king and subjects of Nepal, In the past, when the time sprouted, the meaning did not ripen. Now, the king who resides in the land of Nepal, Possesses the wisdom of a tree. If the tree stupa is well renovated, Immeasurable merit will be obtained. That is my wish in that direction. Furthermore, with a superior intention, it is like this: May all beings without bias be happy and joyful, May kings always be friendly and harmonious with each other. May the Buddha's teachings flourish and spread, May all beings enter the path of liberation and omniscience. From the compassion to lead all beings onto the good path, I myself do not seek food, wealth, or clothing in this life. Nor do I seek fame and reputation. That is the nature of the Shantaripa. May the kings and ministers of Nepal know the name of the yogi of the snowy mountains. May all who see, hear, remember, or touch me, Quickly enter the noble path of enlightenment without delay, Closing the door of samsara, May they always attain that peaceful and eternal state. Thus, the yogi Deshantaripa, born in the snowy mountains, especially for the king, ministers, and important figures of Nepal, offers this prayer on the auspicious day of the white year. Sarva Mangalam! (All auspiciousness!)
