At the border between Tibet and India, for the well-being of all the kinsmen, ministers, and subjects of the Mar-yul (Ladakh) region, the gateway where many kingdoms gather, and for the benefit of the entire Buddhist doctrine and sentient beings surrounded by the cool region, in accordance with the wishes of the king and ministers of Mar-yul (Ladakh), a messenger was specially dispatched from the impartial and unbiased kingdom of Bhota, Zoki, Harinatha, enduring many years of hardship, to ensure the peace and prosperity of the rulers and subjects of the Mar-yul (Ladakh) region, to alleviate their respective tax burdens, and to clearly record their respective intentions as evidence, to be implemented accordingly, and to offer their respective seals and signatures. Finally, the Three Jewels, the Dharma Protectors, Wisdom, and the powerful and mighty arrogant ones with the ability to cause worldly rise and fall are invoked as witnesses, and the rulers, ministers, and subjects together shall abide by the document, without confusing what to accept and reject, drinking blood as an oath, and swearing many times. Now, for the future well-being of Buddhism and sentient beings in general and in particular, if anyone violates this, the Dharma Protectors will inflict severe punishment, and we will also pursue responsibility. For those who do not violate what to accept and reject, and act in accordance with the Dharma, may they have good fortune in this life and the next. With this excellent aspiration, may all high and low, noble and humble, remember this in their hearts. Written on the tenth day of the auspicious Tongchu Bird Month (Tibetan calendar) from the highest and most excellent palace in the snowy mountains of Tibet.
