༈ A Collection of Instructions and Songs: The Essence of Sutras and Tantras ༈ A Collection of Instructions and Songs: The Essence of Sutras and Tantras Oṃ Svasti (藏文:ཨོཾ་སྭཱ་སྟི།,梵文天城体:ओं स्वस्ति,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ svasti,汉语字面意思:Om, may there be well-being!). The words of the Victorious One's teachings, sutras and tantras, and the accomplished masters of the past, if practiced, are all oral instructions. What is the use of me saying something new? However, I will not refuse the request, but say a little. If I speak, this precious human body with leisure and opportunity, is as difficult to find as the Udumbara flower. Since there is no certainty when we will die, and we will die quickly, make this leisure and opportunity meaningful and diligently engage in Dharma. Even if you have faith in the Dharma, due to the circumstances of degenerate times, you are often entangled in wrong paths that are not Dharma. Therefore, rely on virtuous friends and examine your own faults. Study the biographies of the Kagyu masters of the past with careful consideration. Have unwavering faith in the infallibility of karma in all Dharmas. Knowing this, the essential point of all mantra practices is to cultivate unwavering devotion and commitment to the guru, without regard for body or life. The great sound of what is called the nature of Mahamudra, is to leave your mind uncorrected, in its natural, relaxed state. Without distraction, rely on continuous mindfulness. Without anything else, strive day and night in that cycle. In between sessions, constantly make sincere and good prayers of compassion and altruism for all beings. All deity visualization and mantra recitation are aids to virtuous practice. The essence of the yidam is to strive as much as possible. Thus spoke Rigdzin Tsewang Norbu, in the ocean of generosity of practitioners. May these spontaneously arising verses be meaningful, and may they become a cause for attaining all-knowing Buddhahood.
