༈ Advice and Message Song, Vast Realm! ༈ Advice and Message Song, Vast Realm! Aho! Listen for a moment, fortunate ones, those who strive for vows like the heart. Father Madman, freed from planetary influences, he, the wandering yogi of the vast realm, the glorious Tshewang Norbu, the community of accomplished ones, their famous song resounds thus. In these times when the five degenerations converge, whichever way you look, outwardly, inwardly, or secretly, it is a cause for sadness. Generally, although all conditioned things are impermanent, the hope for swift change and transformation is exhausting. Even hoping for happiness in the future from this time, it does not come as hoped, and suffering only increases. Great lords and powerful ones change in turn, making it difficult to recognize them, and life is spent in busyness. Therefore, taking sides leads to lost hopes and fears, and in the end, it is like a meaningless magic show. Even patrons, monastic communities, and relatives find it difficult to remain constant and stable due to the power of the times. There are very few honest people without deceit, and rare are those who keep their vows without hidden agendas. When one's own merit increases, most people are inclined to enjoy wealth. When one's own disciples encounter misfortune, all cherished friends separate. In general, if one has food, clothing, and wealth in this life, everyone praises them. If one does not uphold righteousness according to Dharma, everyone hates them. This is how it is in these degenerate times, no matter what one does. Therefore, son, meaningful one, in the practice cave of the Kagyu lineage's forefathers, abandon the eight worldly concerns of this life, and follow the biographies of the lineage's lamas. Strive to practice the true nature of reality as it is. Do not let the mind wander, maintain mindfulness. Always hold onto the essence of compassion. Do not interrupt the approach and accomplishment of the deity. On the auspicious days of the Dakinis, hold a feast. Always fulfill the Dharma protectors with tormas. Physically engage in unbroken tsokhor (gathering). At dusk and dawn, strive in vase breathing and tummo (inner heat). At the time of union, cultivate Tögal (leap over). Constantly remain in the state of samadhi. Be mindful and pure in bodily conduct. Since there are few people to trust these days, the only trustworthy refuge that does not deceive is the Three Jewels. Meditate on them as the embodiment of all Buddhas. Plant faith and vows deep in your bones. Generate unwavering devotion. Call out their names loudly and pray. Ultimately, let your own mind...
