A song of self-expression in Kyangpen Namkha Dzong, encouraging others to turn their minds to Dharma. A song of self-expression in Kyangpen Namkha Dzong, encouraging others to turn their minds to Dharma. Namo Guruve. Listen, all you assembled brothers and sisters. I, the homeless beggar Tshewang Norbu, through the slight power of virtuous deeds in the past, have obtained this precious human body. However, from the rations of the concubine-born, who does good deeds out of karma, until now I have treated food as wealth. Remembering this, my heart trembles uncontrollably. In general, without having obtained the freedom to practice Dharma, whatever one does is a cause for being thrown into the lower realms. Acting improperly, I am a sculptor of the guru's image, a dung-eater with the name of a tulku, deceiving others with many Dharma teachings, presuming to be right, but losing my own benefit, not having attained the measure of certainty in the meaning of generation and completion, with the name of benefiting beings, but destroying both myself and others. Speaking beautifully about Dharma, but the mind is inconsistent, although fond of Dharma, but carried away by distraction, although happy to accumulate good deeds, but controlled by evil deeds, acting virtuously and accumulating merit, with devotion, but mixed with sin. Saying that there is no attachment to this life, but the attachment and aversion in the depths of the heart boil like water. In general, like me, a guru figure bound by the eight worldly concerns, hides all his faults like a corpse, and raises the faults of others like a victory banner. Deceiving myself with sweet words, not having attained the mind's clarity, but proclaiming prophecies, speaking of profound instructions as human favors, my own practice experience is ambiguous, the slogans are loud, but the belly is empty. Haven't you seen that these kinds of actions are deceiving yourselves? In general, in that small monastery named a monastic seat, although the name is small, it is given the title of a relative's reincarnation, doing nothing, just deceiving and collecting wealth in various places, the important thing is practice, but it has become insignificant, the profound nine vehicles of Dharma and instructions are thrown far away, habitual hypocrisy has reached its extreme, there are many such improper actions, thinking of these, the heart feels disgusted. Thinking that the worldly affairs of the birthplace do not exist in other places, so I travel around, although I have overcome the difficulties of hunger and cold, I have also met the excellent deity and guru, and have only planted some good wishes, but the nature of the mind has not been touched, the desire for high position and arrogance are more serious than before, the behavior has not changed, but has become more cunning than before. Thinking of these, the heart feels sad. In general, the talk

If the flea doesn't change its fur, Changing holes will also be of little benefit. The essence of those words strikes my heart, Now I intend to practice Dharma from the depths of my heart. Attaching the name "Dharma" to symbolic Dharma images, And the empty sounds of verbally claiming realization, Seeing that deceiving oneself is unnecessary. Leaving the true nature of things unadulterated, Exposing the mind's true state nakedly. Thoroughly severing the appearances of the six senses, In the vast freedom of being free from grasping and the grasped, The need for formal Dharma becomes insignificant, Fleeing from being deceived by attachment to this life. In secluded mountain retreats and empty valleys, Not being swayed by distractions, striving in Dharma. Being meticulous and cautious with the law of cause and effect, Protecting the life force of all Dharmas—the vows. Striving to please the Guru, Generating compassion for all six realms of beings. Alone, without companions, practicing the ultimate meaning. Distancing oneself from meaningless chatter, Integrating the mind's true nature into practice. I long for such a way of practice, This wish arises from the depths of my heart. I pray that it may be quickly accomplished. May this account of my own state, Turn the minds of all people towards the Dharma! This was spoken by Tsewang Norbu in the presence of others on the evening of the fourteenth day of the eighth month of the Fire Sheep year (uncertain) at Kyangphen Namkha Dzong, the practice place of Jetsun Milarepa. A song of self-disclosure spoken at Kyangphen Namkha Dzong, encouraging others towards Dharma.
