May I rest in a garden covered with blooming flowers! Like the full autumn moon adorning the sky, possessing a mandala of complete clarity, opening hundreds of faithful lotuses, may it illuminate all beings. A pure mind like Mount Meru, surrounded by the playful ocean of benefit and happiness, possessing the four immeasurables, the four directions adorned by the four continents, the world beautified by a ring of virtue, becoming the basis of sustenance for all beings. Within the peaceful clouds playing in the three realms, wonderful virtues fall like rain, lightning flashes, and the thunder of the four immeasurables resounds, may it bring benefit and happiness to the end of the future! The commentary on the seventh chapter of the Great Perfection, Resting the Mind Itself, the Four Immeasurables, is completed. Having thus well-trained the mind-stream with the wishes of the four immeasurables, the eighth chapter, entering the conduct of the Bodhisattvas, which is the essence as deep as the ocean, mainly explains the generation of the supreme Bodhicitta, has three general topics: Showing the cultivation of the two Bodhicittas, which are the root of all Dharmas; Explaining in detail the actual method of generating Bodhicitta; and Dedicating the merit of the occasion. The first general topic is showing the cultivation of the two Bodhicittas, which are the root of all Dharmas. Now, I will speak about generating the supreme Bodhicitta itself, the method just explained. Thus, by well-accustoming to the immeasurables, cultivate the two Bodhicittas, the root of all Dharmas. It is said, that is, the root of all Dharmas of the world and beyond, the essence of all paths, the guide of all sentient beings, the vehicle for quickly entering the unsurpassed palace is the Bodhicitta of higher intention. Therefore, here one should train in generating it. In the Sutra Requested by Maitreya, it says: Maitreya, if a Bodhisattva possesses one Dharma, he abandons all the bad destinies, does not go into the hands of evil friends, and quickly attains unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. What is that one Dharma? It is the Bodhicitta of fully accomplished higher intention. Maitreya, possessing that Dharma, he abandons all bad destinies, does not go into the hands of evil friends, and quickly attains unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlig

It is said, "To attain Buddhahood in perfect enlightenment." In the Sutra of the Bodhisattva Pitaka, it says, "If you desire to quickly attain unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, you should train in the supreme intention, the mind of enlightenment." The second general topic is the extensive explanation of the arising of the mind itself, which has ten aspects. The first, explaining the benefits, also has six aspects. The benefit of leading from existence to peace is: What are those qualities like? It completely eliminates the ocean of samsara and afflictions, removes fear, sorrow, and all sins, and destroys actions, suffering, and formations. It is the guide that leads beings from existence to peace. It is said. Thus, liberation from the ocean of existence is described in the Gandavyuha Sutra: "O son of noble family, the mind of enlightenment is like a great boat that liberates from the river of existence." Like a heroic rescuer who liberates from the fears of samsara and the lower realms. In the Maitreya's Liberation, it says: "Son of noble family, just as relying on a hero, one is not afraid of all enemies, similarly, a Bodhisattva who generates the mind for omniscience, relying on a hero, is not afraid of all enemies of evil deeds." And in the Bodhicaryavatara, it says: "Even if one has committed extremely terrible sins, like one who relies on a hero for great fear, whom should the wise not rely on, who quickly liberates by relying on him?" It also eliminates all sorrow and sin. It says in the same text: "Those who wish to destroy hundreds of sufferings of existence, who wish to eliminate the unhappiness of sentient beings, and who wish to enjoy hundreds of great pleasures, should never abandon the mind of enlightenment." And in the Arya Mahayana Upadesha Sutra, it says: "Whoever enters the realm of stainless, unsurpassed enlightenment, cuts off all the paths of evil destinies and the eight unfavorable conditions. He clearly distinguishes and purifies the paths of gods and humans. He will not become blind or deaf, and all his faculties will be complete." It is like a fire that burns the fuel of karma and afflictions. As before: "Like the fire at the end of time, it will surely burn great sins in an instant." And Maitreya

In the biography, it says that burning all sins is like the fire at the end of an eon. Furthermore, since it enables one to attain Buddhahood, it liberates from samsara. As it says in the Bodhicharyavatara: 'This is the cause for limitless beings to easily attain supreme bliss.' Therefore, the benefit of becoming an object of offering for the world is: Furthermore, the person who has that bodhichitta, even if the qualities of a bodhisattva are not manifest, the stream of compassion's virtue will increase more and more, and even when in equipoise, it will be united with skillful means and wisdom. All actions of body, speech, and mind are meaningful, and one becomes an object of offering for all beings in the world, including the gods. Like this, having obtained bodhichitta and not losing it, even when the mind is placed in non-conceptual equipoise, it is united with that wisdom. Even in the five states where the mind is not manifest, such as falling asleep, fainting, entering into samadhi without recollection, entering into the cessation of perception and feeling, and constant non-perception, as it says in the Thirty Verses: 'The arising of mind consciousness is in mindless sleep and fainting, and the two kinds of samadhi, and constant non-perception.' Like this, if one has previously obtained bodhichitta and has not lost it, then the stream of merit will not be interrupted. As it says in the Bodhicharyavatara: 'From the time when, for the sake of liberating limitless realms of beings, one has truly taken up that mind with an irreversible mind, from that time on, even if one is asleep or heedless, the power of merit will constantly increase like the sky.' Furthermore, all actions are meaningful, as it says in the Gandavyuha Sutra: 'Son of noble family, all the actions of body, speech, and mind of one who possesses the supreme bodhichitta are meaningful, and they constantly become one taste of virtue.' That is to say, whatever unpredicted actions one does, or whatever virtuous deeds one practices, even if they are not immediately seized by manifest bodhichitta, because they are seized by the bodhichitta that has been obtained and not lost, they will be transformed into virtues that are in accordance with liberation. Becoming an object of offering for the world is also like this, as it says in the Gandavyuha Sutra: 'One who possesses bodhichitta is a god and a'

It is called the great stupa of all the worlds. The benefit of increasing merit is: Thus, meritorious virtues are similar, other virtues have small fruits and are exhausted. The virtues held by the precious mind of bodhicitta do not diminish and increase. Just as clear ocean water flows, and crops are abundant on good land. Just as a drop of water flowing into the ocean will not be exhausted and will increase until the end of the kalpa, and even if a single sesame seed is planted on good land, it will greatly increase. The virtue held by the mind of enlightenment is also the same. In the Sutra Requested by Maitreya, it says: Maitreya, for example, the many waters that flow into the great ocean will not be exhausted until the end of the kalpa. Maitreya, similarly, the virtue held by the mind of enlightenment will not be exhausted until enlightenment as a Buddha. Maitreya, again, for example, in a good source, all kinds of seeds will grow and increase, similarly, the virtue held by the mind of enlightenment will also greatly increase. Furthermore, the virtue corresponding to merit is not like a tree by the water, which is exhausted after bearing fruit once. Even if immeasurable happiness and fruits of temporary and ultimate happiness arise, they will not be exhausted and will increase, like a great fruit tree. The Bodhisattvacharyavatara says: All other virtues are like trees by the water, which are exhausted after producing fruit. The tree of the mind of enlightenment always bears fruit, so it does not diminish and increases. And in the Akashagarbha Sutra, it says: Manjushri, for example, various trees are held by the four elements and grow. Manjushri, similarly, the root of virtue is also held by the mind of enlightenment and dedicated to all omniscience, it will increase. The benefit of becoming the root of all dharmas is: Furthermore, all good dharmas are the root and seed of compassion. Even in samsara, there are many fruits of happiness, and the nature of peace is the cause of supreme enlightenment. Strive to generate the precious mind of enlightenment. As it is said in the Sutra Requested by Brahma: Brahma, here, the superior intention, the mind of enlightenment, is all the
