This great butter extraction method has five parts: first, explaining the raw materials for butter; second, constructing the mandala; third, making the stove; fourth, pouring the butter; and fifth, obtaining the siddhi. First, the nectar, unmixed with impurities, should be extracted by a Vajradhara master, or a monk with pure discipline, or a mantra practitioner with pure vows who cultivates the generation and completion stages, or a yogi who practices properly, and adjusted in size as needed. If it is in the mountains, it should be dried in the crevices of rocks; if it is in a valley, it should be dried in a rain-sheltered place. If it is barley, avoid mixing in impurities; if it is grapes, avoid freezing and thawing. After drying thoroughly, crush the barley or grapes, add wine residue, and filter with a willow basket. Wash your hands and knead repeatedly. Make about six bushels as needed. Pour it into a clean container made of coarse cloth or fine cotton, and press it with a stone overnight. The next morning, scoop it out with an oil ladle and measure it with a bushel. Second, constructing the mandala: Build an earthen platform about the height of an arrow shaft, and draw boundary lines in the four directions. In the center, draw four circles representing Mount Sumeru, with the colors of the four jewels respectively. In the east, draw Videha, with a round shape and yellow color. In the south, draw Jambudvipa, with a trapezoidal shape and blue color. In the west, draw Godaniya, with a half-moon shape and red color. In the north, draw Kuru, with a square shape and yellow color. Draw small continents in the four corners, with the same colors as the major continents. Around these continents, draw a black, round iron fence. On the outermost edge, arrange the five types of offerings. The three parts of the offerings are the same as usual. Scrape off the mud, open the middle container, and if the container is spread out, the best one will have one bushel, the medium one will have half a bushel, and the worst one will have one 'phul do'. Therefore, according to whether the materials are pure or impure, whether the vows are clean or unclean, and whether they are qualified or unqualified, four levels will arise. Finally, the method of obtaining accomplishments: The yogis who are at the end should each eat a small piece of tsampa. By this, one will obtain supreme and common accomplishments. Furthermore, the common accomplishments are: it also cures all wind diseases. It also eliminates obstacles from demons. It also eliminates sudden swellings and rashes. It also eliminates bad reversed wind. This is the best of all methods for eliminating diseases. At the supreme place of practice, the glorious river Rir, I asked the great Lama Sangdag.
