It is said, "Mas Deb Dang Ni," and so on. If you do not understand this, offer it to the Lama, Yidam deities, Dharma protectors, guardians, and their retinues. Offer it to all sentient beings of the six realms without exception. May each receive what they need and desire. May they be endowed with the five desirable qualities. Satisfying with leftovers: even the leftovers of river water, food scraps, etc., can satisfy the hungry ghosts. Therefore, this torma has immense merit. It averts immediate adverse conditions, removes obstacles, and guides the ultimate path. In future lives, it will be free from the suffering of poverty. Even immediate curses can be dispelled. Because the benefits are immeasurable, one should always accumulate a little food and make tormas. Not only here, but also in your own homes, prepare tormas and give them away. Because the aforementioned benefits will arise, one should strive in the activity of making tormas. This is the method of accumulating merit through tormas. Fourth, the method of offering a mandala: The mandala caretaker should prepare a mandala that is wide and long. Then, those who attend the Dharma assembly should each gather a handful of mandala grains. The mandala caretaker then arranges them according to the ritual and makes the offering. If you want to make an elaborate offering, place a pile of grains in the center, visualizing it as Mount Meru. Then, around it, place the four great continents and eight subcontinents in order. Within it, place the seven royal emblems, the eight treasures, the sun and moon, arranging them into twenty-three piles of grains. Visualize in this way and offer. More concise versions include twenty-one piles, fifteen piles, seven piles, etc., offering them according to the circumstances, in order of elaboration or conciseness. On the left, perform the scattering ceremony, scattering grains, visualizing them as scattered jewels for offering. Then, the offerer requests the acceptance of the mandala. The teacher says: May the accumulation of merit be complete! Thus it is said. By offering the mandala in this way, the merit is immeasurable, no different from taking the four continents and Mount Meru together in your hands and offering them. This is also the root of virtue from a gathering of many people, so each flower brought will gain that much merit. Therefore, starting tomorrow...

Everyone should share about seven or eight grains of rice. Moreover, one should strive to offer a mandala to the lama and the Three Jewels in one's own home. This is the method of accumulating merit through the mandala. Fifth, the method of virtuous activity afterwards is: after a meal or after listening to Dharma, one should do some virtuous activity. Generally, it doesn't matter what one does. It is said that at first, one would recite the One Hundred Thousand Verses. Then, when that became very popular, one would recite the Heart Sutra. Je Rinpoche said that even this Heart Sutra, if recited correctly, is a sutra of the Great Vehicle, so it is very wonderful. However, because few people know it, it seems that it is not often recited correctly. Therefore, the mani (six-syllable mantra) itself is free from controversy. Because everyone knows it, it seems very wonderful to recite the mani itself. So he changed it to mani and composed it. Generally, it doesn't matter which deity one meditates on, or which essence mantra one recites. However, Jowo (Lord) Great Compassionate One is the deity of Tibet. It is said that on the summit of Mount Himalaya in India, where lightning strikes, the Lord of Power, the glorious Vajrapani, resides and acts for the benefit of the Indians. It is said that on Mount Wutai in China, the Lord of Wisdom, the noble Manjushri, resides and acts for the benefit of the Chinese. On the summit of the Potala Palace, the Lord of Compassion, the noble Avalokiteshvara, resides and acts for the benefit of us Tibetans. Therefore, it is easy to meditate on the deity Great Compassionate One, it is quick to attain accomplishment, and the blessings are great. Therefore, meditate on the deity Great Compassionate One and recite the essence mantra, as everything is like the Buddha's teaching. The main point above is that this six-syllable mantra is free from all disputes, even all children know it without having to learn it, it appears naturally on the rocks, and its benefits are immeasurable, so recite it. So, how should one recite it? Although there are many manifestations and explanations, in general, it is sufficient to meditate on the deity Great Compassionate One and then recite the six-syllable mantra. There are three ways to recite: outwardly, reciting like the Sutra Pitaka; inwardly, reciting like the Secret Mantra; and secretly, reciting like the signs of the Dakinis. The first is to recite as loudly as possible, because even sentient beings who hear it can be liberated. The second is

Just reciting the left and right channels upon hearing them. The third is to recite clearly in the mind. Like this, choose any of the three ways of reciting, or combine it with your own disposition to recite. The benefits of reciting are immeasurable, and have been extensively explained. This is to receive the transmission, so please imitate me three times here, joining your palms and reciting Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hūṃ (藏文:ཨཱོཾ་མ་ཎི་པད་མེ་ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:ओँ मणि पद्मे हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Om Mani Padme Hum) three times to give the transmission. By doing so, you will have received the transmission, so please keep it in your heart and count it. After the Dharma assembly, please recite it a hundred times. Those who recite the Mani mantra will become Buddhas sooner, and those who do not recite will become Buddhas later.
