Without self, and also not abandoning the state of samadhi, so it is said. By meditating in this way, the three experiences of ease, clarity, and non-discrimination naturally arise, and there are countless others. From the 'King of Instructions that Subdues': In the inconceivable nature of reality, if one places the mind in the inconceivable, then impartial experience arises. So it is. This samadhi's way of being separate from the mind of the three realms is: In the formless realm, the non-discriminating one-pointedness has no object of appearance. But this (samadhi), although without discrimination, does not prevent the appearance of objects, and there is no clinging to one-pointedness. The mind of the form realm, although there is an appearance of objects, has a component of discriminating thought, and although without discriminating thought and adorned with the joy of meditation, it has not gone beyond clinging, because it has not reached the ultimate, so it has not gone beyond the object of the mind. The mind of the desire realm mainly has discriminating thought, but this (samadhi) is non-discriminating wisdom. Furthermore, the samadhi of each of the three realms is accompanied by the mind's appearing object and habitual tendencies, and remains as if not knowing the true nature of reality. But this (samadhi) is the realization of the essence of the basis of self-luminous nature, and is held by the generation of bodhicitta, and is endowed with many distinctions such as the union of skillful means and wisdom. Those four dhyanas and four formless absorptions are also two: those held by the clinging, samsaric mind must be stopped here. The formless absorptions of meditation that transcend the world should be taken because they are true wisdom. Thus, by gradually familiarizing oneself with the wisdom of clear light, all grounds and paths are traversed from higher to higher, and the eyes and superknowledges, etc., which are inherent, appear, just as images naturally appear in clear water. The third meaning is the result: Thus, by knowing the basis and meditating on the path, the obscuring mind and mental factors of the realms, together with their habitual tendencies, are purified, and at the end of the ten grounds, after the diamond-like samadhi, the wisdom of the Buddha appears, which is the realm itself being free from all defilements, so it is called transformation into enlightenment. At that time, the clear light of the Dharmakaya manifests the supreme cessation of the cessation of mind with its own wisdom of awareness. Entering (the Bodhisattva's Way of Life) says: The firewood of knowable things

Without remainder, pacified by burning, those victors are the Dharmakaya. At that time, there is no birth and no death. The cessation of mind is manifested by the body, so it is said. That body also has three aspects: the Dharmakaya, naturally luminous; the Sambhogakaya, endowed with five certainties; and the Nirmanakaya, appearing according to the inclinations of individual beings to be tamed, in whatever way is suitable. Like a wish-fulfilling jewel, qualities are spontaneously accomplished. Until samsara is empty, the activity of spontaneously accomplishing both benefits arises. This is the manifestation of the wisdom body, free from all elaborations. As it says in that very text: The peaceful body becomes clear like a wish-fulfilling tree, like a wish-fulfilling jewel, it does not discriminate. It is constant for the sake of worldly prosperity until beings are liberated. This is what appears when free from elaboration. So it is said. Also, at the time of attaining Buddhahood, although the mind and mental factors cease, wisdom does not cease. Therefore, it is not like an inert void or empty space. The qualities of abandonment are free from all obscurations, and the qualities of realization include the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, the ten masteries, and so on. With inconceivable wisdom and compassion, it accomplishes the benefit of sentient beings. It is unconditioned and spontaneously accomplished, which is the manifestation of the power that is inherently present with qualities in the element. As it says in the Uttaratantra: Unconditioned and spontaneously accomplished, not realized by other conditions, endowed with wisdom, love, and power, the Buddha himself possesses both benefits. So it is said. In short, the complete enlightenment of the power of the luminous element is called the result. The detailed classification of these should be viewed in the treatise "The Great Chariot of Definitive Meaning" composed by me. Thus, by the virtue of briefly summarizing the meaning of the ground, path, and result, and making it slightly clear, may all beings, without exception, realize the meaning of luminosity and become Dharma kings who spontaneously accomplish both benefits! In the ocean-island of vast wisdom, like a water treasure, adorned with the jewel crest of the Naga king of the three trainings, possessing the good fame of white Dharma and qualities, may the illuminator of the teachings abide long! By gathering the essence of scripture, reason, and pith instructions, and clarifying it as much as I am able, may all beings, without exception, be liberated!
