To the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, the supreme gems, Until enlightenment, I take refuge. By the merit of my giving and other practices, May I attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all beings. Recite the refuge and bodhicitta three times. By the truth of the Three Jewels, the objects of refuge, And the blessings of the victorious ones and their sons, By the power of the two accumulations and the pure expanse of Dharma, In the center of a pure and blissful realm of environment and beings, In a vast, delightful, jewel-like immeasurable palace, Upon a precious lion throne and lotus-moon seat, Filled with clouds of offerings transformed by actual arrangements, mantra, wisdom, and the power of devotion, May they be enjoyed. Having blessed the base and place, then with one-pointedness, pray: O Powerful Sage, who is the protector of all sentient beings, The god who tirelessly destroys the hosts of demons and their armies, Who knows all things as they are, I request you, with your sons, to come to this place. In the midst of immeasurable offering clouds in a jewel palace, Upon a precious lion throne and lotus-moon seat, For the sake of perfecting our accumulation of merit and wisdom, Consider us with your impartial compassion and joyfully remain. Having invited and requested them to be seated, in their presence: The perfectly enlightened Buddha, Knower of the World, Speaks of these things as they are. Having conquered the power of demons, worthy of being offered to, The Sugata possesses three wisdoms and feet. I prostrate! I prostrate with reverence to the actions of the ocean, to the Blessed One, the chief of the sons, Samantabhadra! I prostrate with reverence to the chief of the brave and diligent, the Blessed One, the subduer, holding the vajra in his hand! I prostrate with reverence to the chief of the virtuous friends, the Blessed One, Manjushri, the supreme lord of glory! I prostrate with reverence to the supreme son of the conquerors, the Blessed One, who subdues the unbearable force of obscurations! I prostrate with reverence to the teaching of the excellent dharani, the Blessed One, Kshitigarbha, the supreme source of the earth's essence! To all the Buddhas and their sons, who pervade like the sky, I and all beings equal to the sky, By emanating from this body as many as the dust particles of the fields, I prostrate with a mind of constant reverence. This ground, anointed with scented water and strewn with flowers, Adorned with Mount Meru, the four continents, the sun, and the moon, By offering it, visualizing it as a Buddha-field, May all beings enjoy the pure realms. Offering all the assembled offerings, emanated by the power of devotion, the real arrangements, and the types of dharani, I confess all sins and downfalls. I rejoice in virtue, urge to turn the wheel, and make requests to remain. I dedicate this symbolic virtue to great enlightenment. Thus, offer the seven branches. If you wish, recite the hundred names of the Able One and the eight close sons, and the praises as appropriate. If you wish to take the Bodhisattva vows: Until I reach the heart of enlightenment, I go for refuge to the Buddhas, And to the Dharma and the assembly of Bodhisattvas, Likewise, I also go for refuge. Go for refuge three times. Just as the Sugatas of the past Generated the mind of enlightenment, And in the training of the Bodhisattvas, Abided in those stages in order, Likewise, for the sake of benefiting beings, I will generate the mind of enlightenment, And likewise, in the training, I will train in the stages in order. Take the Bodhisattva vows three times. Today my life has fruit, I have well obtained the state of a human. Today I am born into the Buddha's lineage, I have become a son of the Buddha. Thus, meditate on self-joy. Today, before all the protectors, I have invited beings to the Sugata himself, And in between, happiness as guests, May the gods and non-gods and others rejoice. Thus, lead to meditate on the joy of others. The mind of enlightenment is a precious jewel, May those who have not arisen arise, May those who have arisen not decline, And

May (merit) increase more and more! Thus, I pray. Please, Supreme Assembly, consider! Through the power of hearing, remembering, reciting, and paying homage to the excellent names of the Supreme Sage and his close sons, May all unfavorable conditions, temporary and ultimate, be pacified for us and all sentient beings, May happiness, dharma, and wealth increase greatly. May we be blessed to be sustained by the nectar of speech, after being taken care of by the Mahayana virtuous friend. May we be endowed with pure morality, learning, contemplation, and meditation. May renunciation and the two bodhicittas arise. May we always be diligent in the practice of benefiting others, May we be blessed to attain the state of omniscience. May the stainless Buddha's teachings spread and flourish in the ten directions. May the lotus feet of the supreme holders of the teachings remain firm for hundreds of kalpas. May the world be filled with great goodness, And may auspiciousness arise from the spontaneous accomplishment of the two benefits! Thus, pray and conclude with auspicious words. By relying on the prayer with mindfulness, contemplating the qualities of the name and form of the body of the King of Sages and his retinue, as well as the Brahma's voice, and the wisdom of knowing the suchness and the extent, from the place of body, speech, and mind, nectar rays arise, entering the body and mind of myself and all sentient beings, purifying diseases, evil spirits, sins, obscurations, and habitual tendencies, increasing the qualities of life, merit, wealth, learning, and realization. Think that the secrets of body, speech, and mind are inconceivable and blessed, and abide in equanimity in the manner of contemplating reality. This prayer, following the words of Dharma King Trisong Detsen, an emanation of Manjushri, was made by Khyentse Wangpo. May it be auspicious!
