Here, in explaining this sutra of remembering the Three Jewels, there are two parts: encouraging the remembrance of qualities with connecting words, and generating the remembrance of qualities with words that show distinctions. The first is shown by "like this." The second has three parts: how to remember the qualities of the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha Jewels. The first has two parts: remembering the qualities through the categories of expressive names, and remembering the qualities through the nature of the expressed meaning. The first also has two parts: the seven names of perfect self-benefit, from "Buddha" etc., up to "Sugata." The three names of perfect benefit for others are "Knower of the World" etc. The second has two parts: extensive explanation and concise meaning. The first has four aspects: Cessation is: true, etc. Peace is: time, etc. Excellence is: seeing this, etc. Definite emergence is: Blessed One, etc. The second also has four aspects: The path is: complete, etc. Reason is: incompatible, etc. Accomplishment is: reliance, etc. Definite deliverance is: going, etc. There are two ways to remember the qualities of the Sangha Jewel: the qualities of being complete in oneself and possessing the noble path without deviation, and the qualities of appearing to others as the supreme object of reverence, reliance, and offering. The first is: vehicle, etc. The second has three aspects: Being the supreme object of reverence is: palms together, etc. Being the supreme object of reliance is: merit, etc. Being the supreme object of offering is: giving, etc. It is said: May the activity of the King of the Shakyas be completely powerful, may the blessings of Padmasambhava be heart-soothing, may the meaning compiled by Glorious Lion be well-joined and virtuous, may all beings be devoted to the Three Jewels!
