Marginal Examination. Marginal Examination. The second is the marginal examination and the actual content. The first aspect is that some ancient people divided the praise of the Sutra into two types: explaining in order and explaining in reverse order. For the first type, they explain "valid cognition," "becoming," "wishing to benefit sentient beings," etc. This is without distinguishing the context of the scripture. Here, "becoming valid cognition" is taken as the object to be proven, and then the four ways of proving it are explained in order and in reverse order, rather than explaining "valid cognition" and "becoming" in reverse order. If someone thinks that the sentence "Because of what, therefore it is valid cognition" explains "valid cognition" in reverse order, then the sentence "Therefore it is valid cognition" will also become explaining "valid cognition" in reverse order when explaining in order.
