All that is seen, heard, remembered, and touched is transformed into the three qualities of wisdom, virtue, and excellence, and thus gathers freely. Furthermore, the Lord of the Three Worlds, Drikungpa himself, said: "In the past, when I was practicing, for the benefit of all sentient beings, I thought that I should become a disciplinarian who is skilled in subduing myself and others. That thought was not swayed by the thoughts of this life and self-interest, but gathered under the power of the two aspects of Bodhicitta. Now, in the time of activity, numerous masters have emerged, such as Pal Tagmawa, who have become the teachers of all disciplinarians, and all the wise ones have gathered freely, such as Dru Kyamo, who has become the teacher of all wise teachers. If that thought is swayed by thoughts of self-interest and does not gather back, then one will follow in the footsteps of the disciplinarians and teachers, and one's whole life will be spent on mere terms and pretenses of learning, and eventually those disciplinarians and teachers will become the main holders of the doctrine. Similarly, in my retinue, many masters of Bodhicitta and realized yogis have gathered, and all the immeasurable protectors of the world, such as Indra, have effortlessly gathered freely. Similarly, all objects of offering, such as the Lama, Yidam, heroes, Dakinis, and Dharma protectors, are gathered under the power of the two aspects of Bodhicitta, and by emphasizing accumulation and purification, one practices view and meditation. Now, all the Lamas, Yidams, heroes, Dakinis, and Dharma protectors bless us inseparably and directly, and after the blessings have entered, one becomes enlightened in the essence of the Lama and other Three Jewels. If the thoughts of offering to the Lama and other Three Jewels are also swayed by thoughts of self-interest, then one's whole life will be spent in serving the eight worldly concerns for the sake of the Lama. If one spends one's life in the recitation and practice of the Yidam and others, then temporarily diseases and evil spirits will be pacified, and life and merit will increase, and kings and others will be subdued. If one only engages in the cause and effect of evil deeds such as killing enemies, it will become an obstacle on the paths and bhumis. Therefore, one should practice as it is said in the profound teachings of Gyalwa Drikungpa." 68
