Therefore, in the state of Mahamudra Co-emergent Union, the co-emergent Dharma, on the path, eliminating the proliferation of one and other in equality, how does one unite samsara and nirvana, or existence and peace, or the two truths, or phenomena and dharmata, or conceptualization and dharmakaya, into equality? If one contemplates thus, desiring to practice the Dharmakaya, the ultimate truth, the dharmata of all dharmas, if one does not actually practice the phenomenon of conceptualization, the conventional truth, then there is no Dharmakaya to be practiced. Apart from the nature or essence of the phenomenon of conceptualization itself, there is no other nature or essence of dharmata, the Dharmakaya, because it is co-emergent. When the proliferation of the phenomenon of conceptualization is practiced as being free from all proliferation, then the Dharmakaya, the dharmata free from proliferation, will be practiced. If one does not understand the way to unite the phenomenon of conceptualization as being free from proliferation, then one will not understand the way to unite the Dharmakaya, the dharmata free from proliferation. Therefore, if one wants to see the face of the Dharmakaya, if one does not see the nature of conceptualization, then cause and effect will be reversed. It is like wanting the light of the sun but not wanting the sun, wanting the fragrance of sandalwood but not wanting sandalwood, wanting water in winter but not wanting ice. The previous lamas of this Kagyu lineage have widely taught this. Therefore, in order to attain the state of liberation and great enlightenment, one must completely eradicate and eliminate the nature of conceptualization as if it were tasteless and without holes. As Je Gampopa said, "Even gods and demons can meditate on emptiness, but it is useless. Therefore, one must meditate on the essence." This refers to the nature of conceptualization itself. Furthermore, Je Gampopa distinguishes between the mind, which is the phenomenon of innate ordinary consciousness, and conceptualization, which is the phenomenon of adventitious defilements, the eight aggregates of consciousness, as being the causes of samsara and nirvana in name. Therefore, as it is said in the instructions on co-emergent union, "Mind, conceptualization, and Dharmakaya, the three." Although he divides mind and conceptualization into two, he does not divide the dharmata of the two, the Dharmakaya. The phenomenon of mind and conceptualization is just as it is.

From now on, the nature of reality, the profound Dharmadhatu, emptiness, which is free from elaboration, is established as the Svabhavikakaya (nature body), and the wisdom that realizes it is established as the Jnana-kaya (wisdom body). The Dharmakaya (body of reality) should be realized upon the Dharmic conceptual thought itself.
