The Utterance of the Essence of Definitive Meaning These are the words of Nyendrak Lungrik Nyima, the uncle of Kunga Gyaltsen, the reincarnation of Sede Zhung Monastery. The Utterance of the Essence of Definitive Meaning. Homage to the supreme teacher who accomplishes all purposes! To the lotus feet of the glorious lama, who is like the sun, possessing the light that devours the great darkness of ignorance, I attend with an inseparable heart, and here I speak of this profound utterance of definitive meaning. Although there is no duality of grasper and grasped, due to the power of habit, it appears as two, and by clinging to it, one only nourishes habits again and again. Other than this, there is no other thing called samsara. Although virtue and vice are not established by their own nature, they ripen into good and bad separately according to the intention. For example, the taste of the fruit will not change from sweet or bitter seeds. Similarly, those with similar karma appear similar, and those with dissimilar karma appear different. Therefore, even if one goes from here to hell, etc., it is only a change of appearance, and there is nothing else. Thus, appearing as if it exists, like a dream, the root of all illusions is mind-only. The nature of mind transcends extremes such as existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation. This is given the name Dharmadhatu. Like space, free from extremes, center, obscurations, and veils, the realm of naturally pure essence abides primordially in all sentient beings, but is obscured by sudden conceptual thoughts. One conceptual thought pressing down on another, even if deliberately blocked, is difficult to stop. However, if one recognizes the nature of whatever arises, it is liberated in its own place, and there is no other way to transcend it. Therefore, do not continue the past conceptual thoughts, do not welcome the future that is about to arise, and for whatever arises in the present, simply recognize its nature, without deliberate grasping or fabrication, and release it with ease. Although there is nothing to meditate on other than that, do not allow yourself to be distracted, hold it with mindfulness, and by becoming accustomed to maintaining the natural state without fabrication, the naturally clear wisdom will naturally arise. How does it appear? Just as muddy water becomes clear when left to settle naturally. Other than this, most meditations are only for the purpose of resting the mind for a while. The unchanging great emptiness of Dharmadhatu and the continuously clear awareness are primordially inseparable. Therefore, one can only experience one's own nature, and no one else can do it for you. Even so, due to thick obscurations and meager merit, it is difficult to realize. Therefore, accumulating merit, purifying obscurations, and increasing virtue are essential to purify one's own mind. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is crucial to value practical application. Obstructing all virtuous deeds, the eight downfalls of praising oneself and disparaging others, accumulating these opens the great door to evil destinies, utterly severing the stream of excessive talk. It is very difficult to find friends who do not directly or indirectly generate attachment and aversion. Most friendships become the source of conflict, gradually abandoning the thought of associating with others. If one has not harmed others in the past, then there is no reason to suffer harm now. Understanding the infallible nature of cause and effect, uproot from its source the thought of retaliation. Skillfully proclaiming the methods for guiding various disciples, the treatises explained by many wise and accomplished masters of the past are all steps on the path to liberation. Therefore, abandon sectarian bias and attachment and aversion. The suffering of accumulating, guarding, and losing is endless, and it is difficult to find contentment no matter how much wealth one possesses. Therefore, seek nothing more than clothes that can remind one of practice and food enough to sustain life. As soon as afflictions arise, destroy them immediately. If one delays, what should be abandoned will naturally increase. Abiding in the realm of recognizing one's own nature is the one medicine that destroys a hundred afflictions. If one meditates single-mindedly in a solitary place, one will quickly master the key points. If one does not sever the ties of many activities, Even if one meditates for many years, it will be difficult to achieve results. Not with sectarian bias, but with an unbiased mind, pray to the lama who sees inner qualities. Through the power of blessings entering, those with karmic connections may realize it effortlessly. Although I do not have the experience of realization, I have a slight understanding of the key points of samsara and nirvana. By writing these words, may it benefit those who seek liberation. This teaching on the essential meaning of definitive truth, in a place that is extremely cool and high, constantly inhabited by white-lipped deer and wild yaks, like 'Ma Yul Lador', covered by the blue sky, was spoken by the wandering monk 'Snyan Grags Lung Rigs Nyi Ma' from Lithang. May it be virtuous! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
