Instructions to the Gelong Tendpa Tsultrim of Tongkor Instructions to the Gelong Tendpa Tsultrim of Tongkor Oṃ! Like the vividness of the letter "Ka" and the bright lamp, if you are determined to practice Dharma without reservation, then like a yak, dedicate your body, speech, and mind to the place of practice. Abandon the attachment to "I am great, I am beautiful," discard the blindness of vanity, and diligently practice Dharma. Merely having an outwardly dignified appearance is useless; luxurious clothes of silk and satin will not aid in practice. Like a fish cannot be separated from water, accumulating merit and virtue must not be separated from the Dharma. Just as birds gather in the Tala forest, inferior evil friends are the source of downfall. From now on, abandon all friends except Dharma friends. Regard old age, decay, and death as the end point of practice. Abandoning household affairs is the true abandonment of worldly concerns. Only seek to have no regrets at the time of death. Just as a mother yak cannot be separated from her calf, rely on the guru who is like a loving mother. Like a partridge, flee from crowds, and reduce attachment and aversion as if dealing with hot and cold sicknesses. If you can follow the teachings of the guru, it will be like a Vamaka bird escaping from danger. Even if the guru is as high as poison, do not associate with greedy people. Do not be deceived by hypocritical and cunning people; when engaging in virtuous deeds, remember the important matters. Like inferior copper mixed with gold, it will be separated out like molten tin. True care comes only from like-minded Dharma friends, which is difficult to find no matter where you are. Do not confuse black haritaki fruit with poison. Sister, these heartfelt words I speak to you, be sure to keep them in mind. May these words bring you auspiciousness! These are instructions to the virtuous one. I bow with my head to the father Jikme Lingpa (འཇིགས་མེད་གླིང་པ།, 1730-1798), who is inseparable from the glorious Vajradhara. You are a devout householder. In general, whether entering the door of Sutra or Tantra, first examine whether your own body, speech, and mind are tamed. Ordinary people find it difficult to tame their own minds. If you can recognize your own faults and find that you have many shortcomings and few merits, this is precisely a sign of the increase of merits. Conversely, it is a sign of the increase of faults. Generally speaking, if you can tame your mind through hearing the Dharma, the impure appearances of the outside will be transformed into purity. Liberation from the prison of dualistic clinging and doubt. Therefore, it is essential to strive to cultivate pure appearances. You, this virtuous person, have a close connection with me from a previous life, as well as with the Dharma vows, which is an auspicious omen. This is because in a previous life, you were a practitioner of Dzogchen, named Karma Vajra (ཀརྨ་བཛྲ, Sanskrit: Karma Vajra, 业金刚).

Auspicious! Although I don't know what your name is, by the power of pure vows, the omen of meeting appears today. Again, wherever you are in a secluded practice place, if you diligently engage in retreat and meditation, all your wishes will be fulfilled. The general and special deities of the Three Roots, Hayagriva and Dakinis, will arise. Look to liberate the grasping of the mind. When you look at that, you will see the face of the one who looks. The moment you see that, self-grasping will naturally be liberated. When that arises, realize the state of non-distraction and non-meditation. Alala, Bhikshu Vajradhara! Emaho! May it benefit the teachings and beings! This is the advice of Rigdzin Jangchub Dorje to Stongkor Bhikshu Tenpa Tsultrim, may it be virtuous! Advice to Stongkor Bhikshu Tenpa Tsultrim.
