A Prayer-Wish to Purify the Realms of the Three Kayas. A Prayer-Wish to Purify the Realms of the Three Kayas. A Prayer-Wish to Purify the Realms of the Three Kayas is Present. Alas, alas, Orgyen Padma Jungne! We, sentient beings of degenerate times with bad karma, Though desiring happiness, only seek suffering, To whom shall we turn, being so utterly perverse? Look upon us with compassion, Orgyen Lingpa, knower of all! Draw us this very moment to the Copper-Colored Glorious Mountain. Such as you, compassionate Victorious One, Abandoning the people of Tibet, you have departed to Orgyen. The red-faced children of Tibet, descendants of the monkey, To whom shall they turn for refuge and hope in this life and the next? Look upon us with compassion, Orgyen Lingpa, knower of all! Draw us this very moment to the Copper-Colored Glorious Mountain. Life is impermanent, like a bird on a cliff's edge, There is no certainty of not dying even tonight. Deceived by demons, we always prepare to stay forever. When the messengers of Yama come, to whom shall we turn? Look upon us with compassion, Orgyen Lingpa, knower of all! Draw us this very moment to the Copper-Colored Glorious Mountain. Sentient beings of samsara are distracted by the work of suffering, The mind to practice the sacred Dharma vanishes like a morning star. Wasting life on petty distractions, When the great enemy, death, comes, to whom shall we turn? Look upon us with compassion, Orgyen Lingpa, knower of all! Draw us this very moment to the Copper-Colored Glorious Mountain. All beings, like children, The time for hearing, contemplating, and meditating greatly diminishes. The guides of the six perfections, may we remember them! When the elements dissolve in sequence, to whom shall we turn? Look upon us with compassion, Orgyen Lingpa, knower of all! Draw us this very moment to the Copper-Colored Glorious Mountain. Even when entering the path of the ten virtues with devotion, Upon examination, it is mixed with the hypocrisy of the eight worldly concerns. The ripening of non-virtue unknowingly increases. In the bardo, when the judgment of hell is made, to whom shall we turn? Look upon us with compassion, Orgyen Lingpa, knower of all! Draw us this very moment to the Copper-Colored Glorious Mountain. Alas, when will the thread of life be exhausted? The body loses its radiance, the breath becomes heavy and rough, The supporting wind departs, and a harsh sound arises. At the time of severing the ties of affection with loved ones, May there be no intense suffering of being cut off, May the vision of being welcomed by the dakinis arise! Kyi hud, earth, water, fire, wind, and space, The dissolution of the five elements, like smoke and mirage.

And so on. After the clear appearance of the torchlight, there are the three stages of subtle dissolution: appearance, increase, and attainment. Thus, when consciousness dissolves into appearance, like the sun and moon being swallowed by Rahu in a cloudless sky, a red glow appears, and the red element flows back into the heart. Then, when appearance dissolves into increase, like moonlight shining through a star-filled window, a white glow appears, and the white element flows downwards. Then, when increase dissolves into near-attainment, like twilight gathering in a cloudless sky, a black glow appears, and one faints into the state of the alaya. Again, as the eight winds of life-sustaining energy separate, one awakens slightly from the faint, and the original, primordial awareness dawns. Clear and unobstructed, like the autumn sky, one abides in a state of empty clarity, free from obscurations. At that time, may the primordial purity of the present, the realm beyond mind, find certainty in the wild abandon of ordinary consciousness, and through the power of abiding in equanimity, may I instantly seize a firm hold in the secret palace of clear light within the primordial ground, in the expanse of Samantabhadra's realization, endowed with six special qualities. If I am not liberated in the first bardo, then dissolving into the spontaneously present clear light of the phenomenal realm, when the appearances of the eight ways of dissolution, such as sounds, lights, rays, and mandalas, arise, may I relinquish attachment to phenomena, recognize my own appearances, and be liberated like a child entering its mother's lap. At that time, if I am frightened by sounds, startled by rays, and terrified by the appearances of forms, and fail to be liberated, then through the power of the truth of the nature of reality and the blessings of the guru, may I awaken slightly from the dream of delusion, and be born miraculously in the lotus matrix of the pure land of the Sambhogakaya, and be liberated with a sigh of relief. Through the power of entering the path of the Great Perfection of clear light, which transcends all the nine vehicles, when I enter the primordial womb in the future, whatever the degree of liberation may be, may the sounds, lights, earthquakes, and the appearances of the five lineages and the peaceful and wrathful deities, all appear as a harmonious manifestation of accomplishment. May the pure intention of my, the vidyadhara, and the power of the truth of the nature of reality, which is nothing whatsoever, cause all sentient beings of the three realms, especially those beings connected to me by karma, to have a wonderful and joyful experience in the pure lands of the four kayas, and be liberated all at once, like a single ray of light. Thus, this prayer of aspiration for purifying the pure lands of the three kayas is self-arisen in the solitary place of speech of the self-born Padmasambhava, in the Vajra Cave of Orgyen.
