Homage to the Great Mother, who is free from elaboration!\nSpeech (སྨྲ་བ,vac, vac, speech), Thought (སམ,sam, sam, thought), Inexpressible (བརྗོད་མེད,avācya,avācya, inexpressible), Wisdom (ཤེས,jñā,jñā, wisdom), Crossing (ར,ra,ra, crossing), Beyond (ཕ་རོལ,pāra,pāra, beyond), Gone (ཕྱིན,gata, gata, gone).\nSpeech is language, the essence of language is wind. Thought is mind, its function is intellect. Intellect is the wind of karma, and relying on wind and mind, know that the six aggregates arise. The six objects are matter, the subject is consciousness. If object and subject are not related to the source of arising, then the noble faculty beyond expression and thought arises. Through the two wisdoms of hearing and contemplation, the path of the truth of going beyond is abandoned. Unborn (མ,ma,ma, not) Arising (སྐྱེས,jāta,jāta, born), Unceasing (མ,ma,ma, not) Cessation (འགག,niruddha, niruddha, ceasing), Sky (ནམ་མཁའ,ākāśa,ākāśa, sky) Essence (ངོ,sva, sva, own) Nature (བོ,bhāva,bhāva, nature) Itself (ཉིད,tā,tā, itself).\nUnborn is the nature of emptiness, like the child of a barren woman, never existing from the beginning. Unceasing is the characteristic of appearance, self-luminous without ceasing, even though it has never existed. Emptiness abandons the extreme of permanence, clarity abandons the extreme of annihilation. Not abiding in the Middle Way, it is the very nature of space. Individual (སོ,sva, sva, own) Individual (སོར,sva, sva, own) Self (རང,sva, sva, self) Awareness (རིག,vedana, vedana, awareness) Primordial (ཡེ,ye,ye, primordial) Knowledge (ཤེས,jñāna,jñāna, knowledge) Field (སྤྱོད,gocara, gocara, field) Object (ཡུལ,viṣaya,viṣaya, object).\nIndividual means separate, each its own meaning. Liberation and bondage are not connected with anything else. Through one's own self-awareness, innate wisdom, and not through the intellect of conceptual thought. Three (དུ,tri, tri, three) Times (གསུམ,adhvan, adhvan, times) Victorious (རྒྱ,jina, jina, victorious) Ones (བ༵འི་,buddha, buddha, buddha) Mother (ཡུ,jananī,jananī, mother) To (མ,ma,ma, mother), I (ལ,la,la, I) Homage (ཕྱ༵ག་འཚ༵ལ་ལོ༵,vandana, vandana, homage).\nThe past has no time, from where did it come? The future has no time, where will it go? The present has no time, the aggregates are separate from the sources of arising. If one understands the three times in this way, that is the mother of the Buddhas. I pay homage to where one looks, to the place of meeting. By the Great Perfection practitioner, Rangjung Dorje. The First Chapter of the Collection of Discourses is complete." }, { "original_tibetan": "གཏམ་ཚོགས་ལེའུ་དོན་གཅིག་པ། ཤེས་རབ་སྙིང་པོའི་གཏམ་བསྟོད་ཕྱག་གིས་གསལ་བ།", "chinese_translation": "语集第一品,以礼赞般若心要之语而明示。", "english_translation": "The First Chapter of the Collection of Discourses: Clarified with Praises Expressed Through Homage to the Heart Sutra of Wisdom." } ] ============================================================
