Talk Collection, Chapter Thirteen. A Talk of Disgust for Debates on Non-Places. Talk Collection, Chapter Thirteen. A Talk of Disgust for Debates on Non-Places. A Talk of Disgust for Debates on Non-Places. I prostrate to the All-Knowing Victorious One. You are a witness, and for someone like you, to introduce desire and attachment into the scriptures, I think of it as climbing on the roof. Now is the degenerate age of disputes, the king disputes for the sake of Ngari (western Tibet), the minister disputes for the land of arrogance, the farmer disputes for the land, the monasteries dispute for property and food, the Geshes dispute for the three baskets (Tripitaka). They value the worldly falsehood, which is indeed true, but in the hermitage of silent meditation, the mind has aged, yet engages in speculation, and with manifest pride, digs up the faults of others, which is jealousy. Just as one does not distinguish between place and non-place, they argue about the definitive meaning of Secret Mantra, and for the intention of noble beings like the Second Buddha, fools interfere with their own experiences and words, disturbing meditation in solitude, like the Asuras who came in the past, like the first of the four divisions, the life entering, the disputes over the four schools are the path of the great chariot, for the sake of proving the reason that is closest to the true meaning. Likewise, to eliminate wrong ideas, Dharmakirti ground the evil debaters of the pool into powder, which is a great deed for the teachings. The wisdom of those debates is also collected from all seven parts of valid cognition. The eight topics of the Abhidharma-kosa, are the root of the detailed existence, and the supreme wisdom of distinguishing dharmas, having sown the seeds beyond samsara and nirvana, from establishing and refuting, among the great foolish meditators who have not heard or thought, the old monkey is not so amazing. Listen again, in this land of snow, even those who have become authorities, due to their own sectarian desires and attachments, write vast amounts of argumentative texts, the teachings decline, and sectarian conflicts become enormous, have you not seen this? Especially now, the two, Mahamudra and Dzogchen, instead of distinguishing the profound differences in their own places, in this time of unifying intentions, connecting bad commentaries, placing views in the mind, even the terms of words and letters, float in "Kyi-nar", for universal ridicule, engaging in establishing and refuting with reductio ad absurdum.

Even if a hundred thousand radiant suns arise, Sins are exhausted, and false words are abandoned. The teachings of the Victorious One, endowed with threefold faith, Turning away from that, foolish faith, Lifting up one's own side, stirring up with ignorance. To that, my mind does not trust, Initially, the place where punishment descends, Solely because it is the master of the scriptures. The pure appearance of the boundless, Turning vows into something else, The attachment and aversion that arise from relying on what, Seeing the faults and answering the questions, It retreats even more than ashes. Alas, the teachings of the Practice Lineage, Do not practice the image of speculation, The three of renunciation, devotion, and pure vision, Emphasize, afflictions, karma, maturation, obscurations, Purifying with non-discrimination, It is only a place that benefits the determined. For sentient beings who are beginners in karma, Completely cut off with a peaceful mind, Longing for afar and desiring fame, Distracting the mind from the path of painting, This is not a sign of the path, Because it is blessed by the lord of the desire realm. To that, aversion increases even more. In reality, fearing the thorns of meditation, Only approaching solitary places. Because bound by the habits of karmic winds, Digging up the faults of others and babbling, The situation is very weary and distressed. Therefore, knowing and not knowing, etc., Although the eight worldly concerns have transcended suffering, If you cannot truly comprehend, Then turn again to whose presence and awaken! The Thirty-third Chapter of the "Collection of Sayings" is complete. The Thirty-third Chapter of the "Collection of Sayings," Words of Weariness Regarding Examination of What is Not the Place.
