Talk Collection, Chapter Fifteen. A Message to the Virtuous Friend Buddha. Talk Collection, Chapter Fifteen. A Message to the Virtuous Friend Buddha. A Message to the Virtuous Friend Buddha. The qualities of peace and holiness are vast like the ocean, the reality proclaimed by the drumbeat of the two truths. The eloquence of wisdom and liberation, the majestic vessel of discipline, always cherish and perfect the one Dharma. In the past, India was worthy of praise as a sacred land, but now it is covered by the sinful deeds of barbarians. Has Your Holiness seen how the land of Tibet has also been cruelly treated by robbers in this degenerate age of the five impurities? The first precept of the law is renunciation. What need is there to speak of ascetics when those who have abandoned it? Grieve at the decline and degradation of the resources of oneself and others. Relying on the teacher of the place and living by the group is the precept established by the Teacher. However, in this snowy land, those who have abandoned small households should also dwell in solitude because of the multitude of large households. The nature of what is to be abandoned is two hundred and fifty, and the discipline of taking up the seventeen. In this difficult-to-tame and difficult-to-train age of the five degenerations, it is not by hidden consciousness that one can understand. Therefore, like a well without water, and like the Dharma of the painter's colors, after carefully examining those who have not become vessels of virtue, go to the sacred forest with a mind of renunciation. If one who has heard much goes into the forest, the qualities of thinking and meditating will naturally arise. One cannot be crushed by the hundreds of afflictions that arise from the world. Abandon sinful companions. Do not generate accumulation with the wealth of wrong livelihood. The nature of samsara is the truth of suffering. If one truly sees this, the mind of renunciation will surely arise, and one will naturally attain individual liberation. In particular, the supreme Teacher, who does not lack mindfulness, has contemplated and pondered for countless eons, but has not seen any other Dharma to teach other than the supreme Bodhicitta. Unlike the paths of the Lesser Vehicle, where cause and effect are not the same, the tree of Bodhicitta is beautiful to behold. Nurture it with the stream of the four immeasurables, and enjoy the fruits of aspiration, engagement, and result. By this, the practice of the six perfections is free from the thought of accumulating, protecting, and increasing. The habit of giving is the object of generosity and the mind of protection.

The stable ground is the perfection of discipline, enduring hardship for the sake of wrong paths and the Dharma, armor is strong and not overcome by laziness, mindfulness without an object is meditation, the wisdom of individual discernment is the meaning itself. Especially, the nature of the Tathagatagarbha, unmistakably reveals the path of the four empowerments, from the supreme means of liberating channels, bindus, and winds, approach the meaning of the perfection of entering, abiding, and dissolving. The root of existence is the knot of grasping and the grasped, the left and right channels, liberation is the Heruka of the pacification of elaboration. Possessing the nature of the seven branches of union, may the Good Buddha touch that! The fifteenth chapter of the Collection of Discourses is complete.
