The Extremely Condensed Meditation and Recitation of Vajra Garuda's Claws The Extremely Condensed Meditation and Recitation of Vajra Garuda's Claws ༈ The Extremely Condensed Meditation and Recitation of Vajra Garuda's Claws. Homage to Vajra Garuda! Wishing to do a condensed meditation and recitation of Vajra Garuda's Claws, from this moment until enlightenment, I and all beings take refuge in the Lama and the Three Jewels. In order to attain perfect enlightenment for the benefit of others, I will meditate on the Wisdom Vajra Garuda's Claws. Having preceded with refuge and bodhicitta three times, the main practice is the deity meditation: Oṃ śūnyatā jñāna vajra svabhāva ātmako 'haṃ. From emptiness, from the letter paṃ arises a lotus, from the letter raṃ arises the sun, from the letter phu arises eight nagas. The essence of eight snakes on the seat, a multitude of letters. From the complete transformation of five colors, nature is red in color. The head is the nature of wind, the color is blue. The crown petals are the space element, various colors. The horns, beak, and claws are sharp, and the three eyes are red. The right hand bestows refuge, holding a jewel in the gesture. The left hand subdues, pointing the threatening finger at the heart. Adorned with precious snake ornaments, the body is majestic like a mountain. From every pore of the hair, rays of light emanate. In the throat, residing in the midst of wisdom fire, on a lotus and moon seat, are the five great Garuda families. At the heart of the main one, on a lotus and moon, is the white letter Oṃ. Saying this, and contemplating, make the pride of the generation stage firm. The mantra recitation is: From the body and mantra, light radiates, offering to the noble ones, purifying the obscurations of sentient beings, subduing the harm of nagas and demons. The blessings of the Lama and Yidam dissolve into oneself, becoming equal in power to Vajra Garuda. Oṃ pakṣiṃ svāhā, recite as much as possible. Homage to the one who soars in the sky! Grant supreme and common siddhis to me and all others. I pray that you pacify the harm of nagas and earth lords. Through this virtue, may the wisdom variegated garuda be accomplished, and may all beings enjoy the glory of benefit and happiness. This was also composed in verses by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, who made the scriptures that have become the standard for this system, may it be auspicious and virtuous!
