Now, to dispel misconceptions about these truths. Now, to dispel misconceptions about these truths. To refute the notion that it exists in conditioned phenomena, because some think that cessation is the result of the path. If one thinks that cessation exists in conditioned things, one should not think that way. From meditating on the path, merely the removal of the adventitious defilements of conventional truth, which encompasses the imputed and the dependent, is the ultimate truth of perfect purity, the sphere of reality, which is said to be the result purified by the path. It is not a result newly produced by causes and conditions, because it never changes and is of an unconditioned nature. As it says in the Garland of Jewels: "Bhagavan, of these four noble truths, three are impermanent, and one is permanent." And further, "Bhagavan, one of these truths is beyond the realm of conditioned characteristics. Bhagavan, that which is beyond the realm of conditioned characteristics is permanent. That which is permanent is of an undeceiving nature." And so on, it is extensively taught. Placing it as the result is also like the sky being free from clouds, gold being free from impurities, and water being free from turbidity, which are manifest examples of the result of separation, and not newly accomplished produced results. As it is said: "Always the separation of the two, whatever is the basis of confusion, and whatever is in every way, inexpressible and without elaboration, that very nature, knowable, abandonable, naturally stainless, whatever one wishes to purify completely, that is understood to be completely pure from the sky, gold, and water, and from afflictions." Now, to dispel misconceptions about these truths.
