Furthermore, the venerable lama said that in the past, the Tathagata benefited sentient beings with his form. How did he do it? In the Sutra of the Noble Golden Sand Spread, it says: Kauśika. In the past, one kalpa ago, in the upper part of the southern direction of this Saha world, there was a Buddha land called White Lotus. Its lower ground was spread with gold sand, and it was painted with patterns of vaidurya eye stones. Kauśika. In that Buddha land, there were no black mountains, but only mountains made of various precious jewels. That Buddha land had no bumps, but was as flat as the palm of a hand, and was adorned with nets of various precious threads. The rivers of the eight qualities of water in the Buddha land mostly had widths of ten yojanas, twenty yojanas, and about fifty yojanas, and depths of six yojanas and twelve yojanas, and so on. In these rivers, various fragrances and scattered flowers floated, and various beautiful musical sounds arose. In that Buddha land, there were various wish-fulfilling trees. Mostly, the roots were gold, the trunks were silver, the branches were vaidurya, the leaves were crystal, the petals were padmarāga, the flowers were red pearls, and the fruits were the essence of vajra. Kauśika. Some trees had roots of silver, trunks of vaidurya, branches of gold, leaves of jade, petals of red pearls, flowers of butter, and fruits of andranila jewels. In the Buddha land, all the trees were of the nature of the seven precious jewels. All around, there were rings of precious tala trees and Ganga sand trees. These trees, moved by the pleasant wind, made pleasing sounds. On the tops of these trees and in all directions, swans, ducks, peacocks, parrots, cranes, kalavinkas, magpies, karandakas, partridges, cuckoos, kalapingkas, and other various emanated birds danced.

Those birds proclaim the sound of the Buddha, the sound of the Dharma, the sound of the Sangha, and various sounds of the perfections. All the shores of the lakes and ponds are covered with various kinds of flowers, such as utpala, campaka, udumbara, kumuda, white lotus, jasmine, and saffron, and so forth. In that buddha-field, the sound of birth, aging, sickness, and death is not heard. It is devoid of day and night. Furthermore, head ornaments, neck ornaments, earrings, bracelets, armlets, necklaces, waist chains, rings, anklets, golden bells, pearl necklaces, and nets of tinkling bells hang especially from the branches of those trees. In the center of those buddha-fields, there is a supreme city of liberation called the Banner of Dharma. It is twelve yojanas wide and six and a half yojanas high. The roofs, shapes, and sizes of the houses are various, made of various jewels such as andranila jewel, asmagarva jewel, vaiḍūrya jewel, pearl, kekeru jewel, karketaka jewel, padmarāga jewel, gold, and silver, and so forth. Various kinds of balconies, umbrellas, banners, flags, and strings of red pearls make the tinkling bells jingle. It is also adorned with many staircases made of crystal, turquoise, and essence of gemstones. Hundreds of thousands of bodhisattva monks spend their time with clouds of offerings. Kauśika. Their teacher is the Tathāgata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha named Moon Banner, who lives and teaches the Dharma. The light of his body spreads infinitely and without limit. Because of the splendor of that Buddha, the Buddhas from immeasurable buddha-fields in the ten directions praise the qualities of the Tathāgata Moon Banner. The retinues of those Buddhas also gather in six periods to pay homage and make offerings to the Tathāgata Moon Banner. At that time, the Blessed One offered these verses to the Bhagavan: Supreme guide, Buddha Moon Banner.

为了供养东方等所有佛， 无边刹土菩萨众， 每日六时极超胜， 持诸花香与灯烛， 顶礼绕转如是言： 胜者刹土稀有极庄严， 尤为悦意解脱之宫殿， 世间知者月幢汝， 闻名殊胜众生获利闻， 我等超胜于此佛土故， 我等已获利之大殊胜。 其后菩萨众皆往各自之刹土。 彼如来之右有名称月之智慧者，左有名称日之智慧者。 眷属之菩萨名为殊胜。 劝请佛陀转法轮。 彼佛之寿命量为中劫之半。 正法则以彼之二倍之方式存在。 कौशिक (Kauśika， कौशिक，憍尸迦，憍尸迦)。我的青年声闻离车毘为世间一切所乐见，彼亦于彼时转生为如来月幢。 于昔之时观其福德。 कौशिक (Kauśika， कौशिक，憍尸迦，憍尸迦)。于此乃至生存之间恭敬承侍。 昔时月幢出现于世之时， कौशिक (Kauśika， कौशिक，憍尸迦，憍尸迦)。汝曾向彼如来供养一捧蜂蜜，如今已转生为帝释天，故如今应对此声闻生起信心。 世尊如是宣说之后，千百万众生获得不生之法忍。 如来月幢转生之传记第二十五。 第二十六，第二十五，如来月幢转生之传记。

For the sake of offering, all Buddhas of the East, etc., In boundless realms, the Bodhisattvas, Surpass exceedingly six times daily, Holding various flowers, incense, and lamps, Prostrating and circumambulating, they say thus: The Victor's supreme realm is wondrously beautiful, Especially delightful is the palace of liberation, World-knower, Moon Banner, you, By hearing your excellent name, beings hear of gain, Since we surpass in this Buddha-field, We have obtained the great supreme gain. Then all the Bodhisattvas go to their respective realms. To the right of that Tathagata is one named Moon Wisdom, and to the left is one named Sun Wisdom. The attendant Bodhisattva is named Supreme. They urge the Buddha to turn the Dharma wheel. The lifespan of that Buddha is half a middle kalpa. The sacred Dharma remains in a manner twice that long. Kauśika!
