二十二、第二十一，圣者化生香象的故事。 二十二、第二十一，圣者化生香象的故事。 据说，又变成了一位菩萨。在《圣妙吉祥游戏经》中说：妙吉祥，过去世，如来遍见如来之教法中，有一转轮王名为莲花圣，有五千大臣和附属小邦。有五百妃子，但没有儿子。一次，对如来遍见作广大承侍供养时，空中传来声音：将有二十二位王子降生于王妃。之后，九个月后，妃子们各自生了一个儿子。妃子莲花美生了一个莲花，国王希望有后嗣，却出现了恶兆莲花。现在就拿出去扔掉！用香水清洗四肢，拿来！这样吩咐后，莲花被扔掉了。三天后，国王大臣们去游玩花园，在莲花池中，看到一朵莲花盛开，光芒四射，花瓣中央显现出一个白色、容貌俊美的男孩。得知是莲花美所生，于是彩旗飘扬，彩虹环绕，法螺声、鼓声如千龙齐鸣，各种鲜花香料遍满大地，王子被以隆重仪式迎入王宫。王子的名字被命名为香象。之后，请来相士占卜，相士说：王子福德具足，相好庄严，若居家则统治四方，若出家则断绝生死之根，证得无上圆满菩提。之后，王子们渐渐长大，他们来到莲花池边，各自的身影映在水中。王子香象说道：诸法如幻如梦如水中月，我们也是一样无常。青春美貌不可靠，即使活到一百岁，最终还是会死亡。王子们因此生起忧伤，回到王宫对父母说：世间是痛苦的根源，居家是生死轮回的开端。既然获得了闲暇圆满，又值遇了佛法，我们愿出家。

In the Sutra of the Play of Holy Manjushri, it says: Manjushri, in the past, in the teachings of the Tathagata Vipaśyin, there was a Chakravartin king named Flower Holy One, who had five thousand ministers and vassal states. He had five hundred consorts, but no sons. Once, when he made extensive offerings to the Tathagata Vipaśyin, a voice resounded in the sky: Twenty-two princes will be born to the consorts. Then, after nine months, each of the consorts gave birth to a son. The consort Flower Beautiful gave birth to a lotus, and the king hoped for an heir, but this inauspicious lotus appeared. Take it out and throw it away now! Wash the limbs with fragrant water and bring it here! After giving this order, the lotus was thrown away. Three days later, the king and ministers went to the pleasure garden, and in the lotus pond, they saw a lotus flower blooming, radiating light, and in the center of the open petals appeared a white boy with a beautiful face. Knowing that he was born from Flower Beautiful, they raised victory banners and pennants, rainbows swirled around, the sound of conches and drums roared like a thousand dragons, and the ground was filled with excellent flowers and incense. The prince was brought to the palace with proper ceremony. The prince's name was named Elephant of Incense. Then, they showed him to a soothsayer, who said: The prince is endowed with merit, adorned with auspicious marks. If he remains at home, he will rule over the four directions. If he renounces, he will cut off the root of birth and death and attain the supreme perfect enlightenment. Then, those princes grew up, and they went to the lotus pond, where their reflections appeared in the water. Prince Elephant of Incense said: All phenomena are like illusions, dreams, and reflections of the moon in water. We too are impermanent in the same way. Youth and beauty are not reliable. Even if we live to be a hundred years old, we will eventually die. And so, those princes felt sorrow and went to the palace and said to their parents: The world is the root of suffering, and living at home is the cycle of birth and death. Now that we have obtained leisure and fortune and have encountered the teachings, we wish to renounce.
