Regarding the explanation of the meaning of the thighbone trumpet. To the supreme human thighbone trumpet, listen to the explanation of its symbolism, meaning, and signs. From the limb of a non-conceptual corpse, the fragment of a mind without attachment or aversion is taken, the skull is removed and scraped. This is a symbol of abandoning the grasping of inner and outer. The mouth and door of the thighbone trumpet are the same, symbolizing that all dharmas are of one taste. The root has a dual connection like the nostrils of a yak, showing the union of dharmata as one. Below, it has a crest of connecting iron rings, symbolizing following the accomplished ones. The straight and empty tube is the meaning of the Middle Way that does not abide in extremes. Blowing is based on the interdependence of wind, correctly inserting the sound of the corpse into the central channel. Hearing it stirs the heart channels of gods and demons, listening to it transforms self-appearance and other-appearance. The first way of blowing is to offer to the lama, the second is to subdue appearances, the third is to invite guests, the fourth is to dedicate without victory or defeat, the fifth is to directly cut off grasping. In order to awaken from the sleep of laziness, arise the perfection of diligence.
