Among the mothers belonging to that retinue, some eat flesh and drink blood, some gnaw bones and wear skin, some are pure Brahmin women, some are lords of epidemics and diseases, some send unwanted bad omens, some bestow accomplishments upon practitioners, some transform into invisible bodies, some have various head ornaments, some are beautiful smiling women, some proclaim peals of laughter, some are old and decrepit, hobbling and staggering, some make toothless 'phem' sounds, they accomplish the welfare of beings with uncertain conduct, the army of Dakinis is devoted to activity, accept the red torma and blood libation, and destroy enemies, obstructers, and oath-breakers from the root.
