Sridpa Bardo. Sridpa Bardo. The fourth is, if one is not liberated there, from that time until the birth of the next body, it is called the Sridpa Bardo. For this, one needs a key like inserting a wedge into a broken ditch. That is, now from the time of distinguishing as a preliminary to the actual path, the appearances of Sridpa Bardo must be taken into the continuum, and one must become accustomed and familiar with the practice of reversal. Just as when irrigating a field, if a wedge is well inserted into a broken ditch, water can be drawn continuously. In special cases, one can reverse into impure samsara, thus making it easier to enter the path of pure birth. As the tantra says: "The flesh body of the previously arisen existence, with all faculties complete, unimpeded, Possessing the power of karmic miracles, Seen by the pure divine eye of the same kind." And as the "Union of Sun and Moon" says: "Gods and humans are white in color, The light of pretas is like smoke, Hell is like a tree stump, Or like fluffy black wool, Animals are like blood stains, Asuras are like hail falling." And it says: "At that time, the face looks like this: Gods and humans look upwards, Asuras and animals look sideways, Pretas and hell beings look downwards, These are now the masters of birth." And it says: "Lightning or rain, Likewise, when it is cold and foggy, The clamor of people gathering, Or a temple or a multi-storied building, Houses are seen stacked up. Evil beings see huts, Or they see empty caves and valleys. These are signs of entering the womb, Wanting to go but being wrapped up, And accompanied by obstacles." As it is said, when each appears and dwells in the Bardo, one will see four fearful sounds, three terrifying cliffs, and various definite and indefinite signs. When one becomes discouraged and wants to find a body, the light of each of the six realms will appear. If one is to be born as a human, if one is to be born into a noble body, one will see swans. If one hears unpleasant sounds, one will see fish. If one sees cows mating, one will be born as a cow. In Jambudvipa, when one sees men and women having intercourse, one should not generate desire, hatred, or attachment. It is best to train the appearances as emptiness, and to practice with mindfulness, thereby reversing into samsara and attaining liberation there. The middling one should visualize the guru, yidam, father, and mother, and request accomplishments like receiving secret empowerment. The lower one

Or abide in the meaning of emptiness. If that is not possible, then for desire, cultivate the nine antidotes of aversion, such as the contemplation of impurity, or by visualizing a pure land, be liberated there, or block the womb entrance and be born miraculously in a pure realm. Finally, at the time of entering the womb, make aspirations to be born in a pure land, take refuge, choose a womb, transform one's aspirations to a good place, and so on. By doing this, one can turn away from a bad physical basis, attain leisure and endowments, be embraced by a virtuous spiritual friend, and be liberated.
